Obviously you installed FSX into the default location. That is the problem, since this area is heavily protected...
The best scheme is to install FSX and any other FS related tools to custom locations, such as:
C:\FSX
C:\FSX_Tools
etc.

Gera,
Although I'm a big fan of Windows 7, I have yet to find away to automate the Read/Write privlidges of any folder that getts added into FSX - I end up changing each one individually from "Read Only".
That said, and I'm not sure this would help much, but I found that if you copy a file to your desktop and then copy them back into the FSX folder (e.g. if you are modufying an aircraft.cfg file to add a repaint) then it seems to allow you to have read/write access afterwards.
BTW, I thought I saw somewhere (maybe in these forums) that MS officially didn't support FSX in Windows 7 64 bit.
, MS has always had a nack at making the life of its users a hassle or a pain somewhere so now I'll have to get used at making the folders "writable" before I send something to them, I sometimes wonder who really programs up there, their brains sure are totally different than the ones us users have.
Never crossed my mind this would be a hazard, I got the new machine with a Tera Disk just to full around with so much stuff I have in FSX, if I would have known I sure would have done that......![]()

As far as giving "bulk permissions" to folders and sub-folders go, if you select the parent folder name in the left side of Explorer, you can select the "Properties" for that folder. There's an option to "Apply these settings to all folders and subfolders?"
