• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Matthews:

Thank you very much by this wonderful work. It is really an extremely useful tool.

The area of the graph allows us to locate to us in the detail far better of which it is becoming.

Best Regards

Wanted to add my "thanks" to the thread. I am working out a computer issue at the moment so I have not been doing any virtual landscaping. I look forward to getting back to it and firing up this beta.

It's only the 24th of April!!! Darn that international date line! :)

Cheers on the 1.07 release. The visual view of the polygon can be of tremendous assistance in speeding up design...especially for me, because of the way I work.

Tag X Description

Hi, Doug

I did not find any difference between the contents of the columns tag and description (from FSX_KML_Tags.XML). It seems both contain the same information.

I understand I can change the column width to almost zero, but would you fill the description column with another information on next versions?

Regards,

José

"Description" column is meant to have more descriptive comments to describe the "Tag" column. But as you say currently its exactly same as the "Tag" column and as such not very useful.

Congratulations

Hi, Matthews

Thanks for replying.

I appreciate very much you work on FSX_KML. It´s really a very useful tool. I hope it becomes more and more powerful in the near future.

Congratulations.

Best regards,

José

Hopefully It Can Be Done Now!

"Hello friends:

How can I MOVE an object (those small driveable bridges in FSX) just a few feet aways from their corrent locations; or simply place a similar one where it is missing and make the object (bridge) viewable when in Free Fight?

I read about "Library Object" and "Library Object Manager." Where are they within FSX deluxe? Perhaps I could just go there and choose/select the object I want to add to an EXISTING scenery in FSX.

Thanks to all for your help!

dito"

Hi... I'm working on this feature in FSX KML 1.07 at the moment (both placing scenery objects from library and excluding existing objects via exclusion rectangle)... It should be ready over the weekend (maybe even before).

And as Jon said... to "move" existing object, you need to exclude the existing object and replace it with the same object in different position

I AM LOOKING FOWARD TO THE END OF THE THIS WORKING DAY and THANK YOU, MATTHEWS!

Hi...

I did say earlier it would be in 1.07 but unfortunately it's not. I released 1.07 with a lot of other changes rather than hold it up waiting to finish the scenery object exclusions and placement, which will be in 1.08 now.

Hopefully 1.08 will be ready over the weekend sometime.

"Over the weekend sometime"? That's no problem of "too much waiting" at all as far as I am concerned!

However, what I intend to do is simply to REPOSITION a scenery object it seems to be it can be done now based what Meshman said:"...I'm trying to reposition the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, that's not the problem...." (http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4800)

Am I understanding correctly? Or is it something totally different? (He simply used GE and FS_KML.) BUT, I can wait!

Ur, I simply used GE and FsXKML to make some polys, not to reposition a scenery object. That takes a little more time to write an exclusion, decompile the default BGL file to get object data, make a nex XML file to position the object and tweak, tweak, tweak.

Making extrusion bridges as you desire are a little more effort.

Oh, I see! Then I wonder whether I'll be able to accomplish my goal without step-by-step instructions on the matter.
