• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Airport has trees on runway!!!

Hi everyone could you please help me...

I've recently updated YPPH (Perth) airport with the new runway 3R-21L. I've moved the boundary fence, but the existing building development, trees and ground texture from outside the airport remains. I've added exlusion rectangles which gets rid of the buildings, but i still have trees and the original ground texture there. (See attached image)

Also I created a new airport YNWA (West Angelas) which wasn't included in FS9, and this also has trees down the runway. I've updated a few airports and all of those that extend beyond the original boundary I'm having trouble with the standard scenery.

Could someone please help me solve this problem... Thanx.

You need to use another tool such as SBuilderX or FSX KML to create an terrain based exclusion. These use Shp2Vec to create the bgl files and not BglComp. BglComp exclusion rectangles won't work for autogen trees. You will need to extend the airport polygon to get grass under your new airport. FSX KML has a forum on this web site and SBuilderX has a forum at www.ptsim.com

The first part of his post may be FSX which requires the shp2vec as per Jon.

The second part appears to be FS9 which the rectangle exclusion=ALL should remove the trees but will not add the airport texture.

That requires a Utility like Sbuilder.
