• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

spam

I got that too. It's almost certainly an automated message sent by a bot trawling the forums for email addresses and spoofing arno's email address as source to make it look more convincing.

No, it is just an notification that you have a new PM. These are always send with me as the sender.

But I banned that user already and deleted all PMs he had sent. So please ignore this further.

Thanks, Arno,
These spammers should know that trolling an FS site isn't going to do them any good - only nerds and old guys here, anyway! :D

But - what if it directs you to a site with the latest nekkid wireframe mesh of a DH Dragon, or .... the rarely seen Gordon Dove?

(ultimate nerdiness - mesh wireframe screenshots of airplane models - we're hopeless!)

What is truly frightening is that a really wicked spammer could send out links to one of the latest outrages...

...fake sites set up by the FBI to sting (entrap!) porn addicts...

Oh, come on! That's taking conspiracy theory too far! Besides, where would the FBI get those wire mesh diagrams from, anyway?:rotfl:

I assure you, I'm not joking!

FBI posts fake hyperlinks to snare child porn suspects
http://www.news.com/8301-13578_3-9899151-38.html?tag=tb

What if some truly rotten person sent out a link to some legitimate product a person might be interested in (like maybe a flightsim addon?) and then had a hidden redirect on their "website" that simply sent the poor sucker to one of the FBI's "fake porn sights!"

I suppose that's why I ALWAYS look at the URL that I'm about to be redirected to, and if I have any questions about it - I don't go there.

Perhaps dumbest of all the spammer gives the game away in the title ... the most dangerous spammers are probably those with more than 2 brain cells (and perhaps even as many as 5 in exceptional cases).

At first I thought someone had offered to make me some photoreal ground for an airport project I'm helping with - now that might have been worth a click ...

Also, I didn't click any links in the msg, I just came to my bookmarked FSDeveloper forums page - I never click links in messages without a long hard look at what they really are. Of course when I landed here, there were no PMs listed - big surprise.

Also, with the FBI scam, wouldn't that be classed as "entrapment" - or do I watch too many cheezy movies?
