FS2020 seems to be a game, but not simulator

The first look of this simulator is great, they say they emphasize on the word "simulator", but...
I personally feel like it is for gamers, but not simmers, and if it is like Microsoft Flight, where addon developers have to sell addons with a lot of restrictions, and are forced to use their website to sell addons, then that will be a terrible game. If so then where will freeware addons go, such as the free beautiful a/c repaints people make from time to time, or freeware sceneries?

Dont lose hope before knowing the real truth. You're only guessing. Microsoft knows that Flight failed miserably and why, that making it an outside view 'game' and not a high realism simulator didnt work.

Just have a little patience and lets see what it is all about.

They see how many people are buying XPlane 11. They want their market back. They are going to try to compete. So far, its looking awesome.

I'll bet you know no more than the rest of us – we know there's to be a new FS from Microsoft and that's about it. Do like the rest of us and put your feet up, tuck in to some popcorn and wait for real information in August at the earliest. Hopefully there'll be some hard facts to chew over then; but there again, there might be only a few more sketchy details.

Oh, the suspense...

Hope that cloud streaming is not a must, I do not think every player have a good network. If regions where a flight will fly-by can be downloaded and stored locally will be great.

I bet if Lockheed Martin and Austin Meyer have better sceneries, they will win Microsoft because of their addon aircraft's fidelity, and their ability to store the whole game locally.

Let's see what Microsoft will say a few days later.

I bet you're sitting by your laptop really, rocking slowly back and forth, humming to yourself, willing the day to come while chomping on your popcorn and swilling beer :)

Tom is too busy working with things for CFS-3. We're just a side distraction. ;)

Ah, all of the Sturm und Drang, not to forget angst! There is absolutely nothing to be sure of except uncertainty! :stirthepo

I see they have a Beta program already setting up. I havent signed up yet. Its at the XBox Hub which is where their Beta program will run out of. this will be for XBox and PC10 computers. My question is, will it run on Windows 7.

Based on what I saw - you need game pass for the PC. and it runs on Windows 10.

see this

MS' motivation to "push" Windows 10 and the MS online Game store brings to mind what happened with L-M and P3D.

Prepar3D was originally released with intent to only support DX-11, but was later additionally retro-ported to Dx-10.

We'll see if MS deserves end user trust of Windows-10 ...based on the MS-OS Rule (aka "Emperor's New Clothes Rule"):

"Never load a new MS-OS until at least 4 years after RTM (so it has had a sufficient number of bugs fixed). ;)

Personally, I'll be staying with Windows-7; so if they wanted my business, they'd port the X-Box App to Win-7 also. :stirthepo

Let us just hope we will NOT have to deal with an attempt to 'push' us hardcore Win-7 users like this:

...based on an assumption we all think like this:
