• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

What is the 'logic' for arriving AI aircraft

Jorn Have a look here https://www.avsim.com/blogs/entry/45-the-challenges-of-drive-through-parking-implementation/ I had a quick look through and noted the author suggests - Drive through parking (DTP) is a technique that is meant to make aircraft enter and exit a parking space facing the same...

What is the 'logic' for arriving AI aircraft

Jon, Firstly I had better clarify exactly what you mean by AI aircraft doing a pushback. Do they do a pushback then turn 180 degrees and proceed in the same direction as the pushback but facing the opposite direction OR do they do a pushback for a short distance and then withput changing...

What is the 'logic' for arriving AI aircraft

Looking at the taxipaths for Corfu with ADE I have noticed that there are TWO taxipath type PARKING at each ramp PLUS there are taxipaths type PATH on BOTH sides of the ramp. I am no expert at this BUT the way I did it with my (water) airport is to have taxipath type TAXI leading TO the ramp...

    Having problems with version 1.76

Thanks Jon, rotten Windows the culprit. I unblocked both the prokey and infralution dll files (found out about the second one after fixing prokey) and then when I select PR3D v4 on entry ADE complained that it couldn't find an EFFECTS folder yet it existed in PR3D but a quick check of the...

    Having problems with version 1.76

Sorry I have uninstalled 1.75 now. The original error was something to do with Infralution.Licensing.dll in the plugins folder if I remember correctly but I then decided to reinstall 1.75 and when I ran it was another error BUT then I received the 'invite' to upgrade (like before) and so I did...

    Having problems with version 1.76

I have been using version 1.75 without any problems. Today when I started 1.75 I got a message that there was an update which I allowed to install. ADE then would not work giving a critical error. I then decided to download the latest version (1.76), uninstall and install 1.76. Same problem...

What is the 'logic' for arriving AI aircraft

Jorn I am not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve. You say that you have plenty of AI in/out so what are you trying to achieve OR is it that you are using CORFU as a 'template' to understand how you create a new airport? Yes those 'red' lines look ok. Looking at FlyTampas Corfu it...

What is the 'logic' for arriving AI aircraft

Jorn, It looks ok but you need to test it to make sure by creating some AI traffic. Are you creating a new airport which didn't exist before? If so then send an image of your airport from ADE so I can check.

What is the 'logic' for arriving AI aircraft

Jorn Have a look at the attached airport file from ADE loading the Corfu airport. The ramps (parking at the top and bottom) have drive through, the others don't (will require pushback). The FSX AI 'engine' will not direct aircraft with a wingspan under 32.0 meters to these as the parking has a...

What is the 'logic' for arriving AI aircraft

Hello Jorn, It's been some time since I created an airport with drive through parking but I will do my best in describing how to achieve this. Firstly you need TWO taxipaths, one coming from the runways and one returning to the runways and I am not sure if you have to but I used TAXIPATH type...

How to control final approach speed of an ai aircraft.

Thanks Roby, I increased both stall speeds by 10 and it appears to have made an effect. I meant to mention in my last post that after I increased the empty weight and drag_scaler for flaps, takeoffs were then a little strange. The AI aircraft would climb for a while then seemed to level out for...

How to control final approach speed of an ai aircraft.

Hi Tom I decreased the drag_scaler for [flaps.0] and increased the empty_weight for [weight_and_balance] (which was only 2790 yet the real aircraft is 5287) by 1000 and tested. The AI aircraft does not approach and land any noticeably faster but lands further down the 'runway'. Maybe it's time...

How to control final approach speed of an ai aircraft.

Tom I think the flaps drag should have an effect. I will 'play around' with that setting the drag a bit lower. John

How to control final approach speed of an ai aircraft.

Thanks Tom I will try changing empty_weight and watch for a change. I find it a little odd that both the DHC2 and DHC3 are a little difficult to get the airspeed down when flying them yet with my AI versions the DHC2 approaches and lands much faster than the DHC3 so those other parameters are...

How to control final approach speed of an ai aircraft.

Thanks Guenther Actually you are probably correct as the second web site you gave a link to states the stall speed is 58mph which is 50 knotts which is about the speed showing on the ASI in the aircraft I was using to 'tag along' with my AI aircraft landing. My AI version of the FSX DHC2...
