• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Newest build crushing models?

I don't know if it's related, but I've noticed that the latest dev build (06/02/2024) is showing certain animated parts on some FSX/P3D MDLs at much larger scale than they should be.

MCX Texture Bug - Some DDS Textures Show As Black?

Thanks Arno. Interestingly, I'm able to open those textures that were showing black in MCX in the P3D version of Image Tool, without issue!

MCX Texture Bug - Some DDS Textures Show As Black?

Interesting thing I have noticed with the latest development release (DEV 04/03/2023). I'm getting some DDS textures showing up as black in the viewer on certain models, both FSX & P3D MDLs. When I click on one of those textures in the material editor (which show up as white), the following...

MDL Converter - Latest (13-10-2021) Build - Crash On Launch

Arno, It seems I blundered. The folder I have the MDL Converter development releases in is set as 'Sort by Date', but it had become set in reverse date (oldest first) order. Therefore I had unpacked the oldest build I had in there! Anyway, all is fine now. Thanks.

MDL Converter - Latest (13-10-2021) Build - Crash On Launch

Hi Arno, I just downloaded the latest 13-10-2021 build of MDL Converter, but I note it does not launch. Looking at Event Viewer, I note the following two crash logs : - Faulting application name: ModelConverterX.exe, version: 1.5.0.0, time stamp: 0x60662529 Faulting module name...

    MCX missing some animation tag

Looks like that is the case, as that has happened to me when I have done what Arno mentioned.

MSFS20 Legacy & Modern Flight Model Questions.

I have a few questions regarding the choice of FM in MSFS. It would appear from what I've been reading, the 'Legacy' (FSX/P3D/ESP*) FM is meant to be used for, well, legacy aircraft*. But at the same time, I recall in one of the pre release videos, it was said that the legacy FM was "there to...
