• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    scenProc feature roadmap

I read somewhere that you were looking at having Scenproc detect buildings in PR similar to the way Autogen vegetation is done at the moment. If I can suggest that it may make things easier or for more accurate detection if the algorithm might have the option to use use a GIS point data file as...

    Extrusion Bridge idiosyncracies

I would be interested in trying/testing the extrusion bridge functionality when you get it to a presentable level. It might save me some time. My project is quite large however (the single season PR is a 67GB PSB file, and a 300MB DTM BGL). cheers Braedon

    Extrusion Bridge idiosyncracies

I thought that was the logic, but with the numbers I have, the vertical difference in length between each of the pylons should be 0.888m, but in practice it requires 3.7m difference between the heights of the pylons in the code to give me that 0.888m increment. If it was a simple offset for the...

    Extrusion Bridge idiosyncracies

Is there a formula for the altitude of extrusion bridges that I'm missing? I have the following code for an extrusion bridge, the altitude figures for the start and end were eventually worked out by trial and error (read: modify/compile/reload/observe/guest-imate correction/repeat) but it looks...

Hydro Polys (amongst others) - I get the GUID, but where do I get the UUID?

OK, so it doesnt refer to another resource/property/etc. OK. Thanks Braedon

Hydro Polys (amongst others) - I get the GUID, but where do I get the UUID?

Hello All, If I am making a Hydro poly (or any other vector poly with similar attributes) the SDK says that it has 4 attributes. SlopeX, Slope Y, GUID, and UUID. I get the GUID is the GUID of the type of poly. I guess the Slope values are to do with sloping polys, and I won't need them for...

    About geotiff resmaple

Just a note on this old thread for anyone who finds it looking for answers to a burning question, as above in GaryGB's breakdown of Global Mapper's export settings, if you are creating terrain mesh less than about 30m/pixel, use: "Elevation (32-bit floating point sampes)" This is to prevent...

Design Tool suggestion - INF file source auto-number

G'Day Ed, I don't use PS to combine the tiles, I use Global Mapper to do the grunt work there as the Georeferencing is done and that's what can put them back together. If I could keep it as a whole single file exported out of photoshop PSB into TIFF format I could put 10 reference points on 1...

Design Tool suggestion - INF file source auto-number

I export about 220 10000x10000 pixel Geotiffs out of Global Mapper and then get rid of all the ones around the edges with nothing on them (ie are all NULL values). I get them right before adding the blend masks (usually) around the outside, discarding all the ones in the middle that are all no...

Design Tool suggestion - INF file source auto-number

G'Day all, I have a PR with 193 sources (for just one season), and as I add more it will get much bigger. This leaves me with the tedious task of renumbering the [SourceXXX] sections as I do more work. Can we get a tool to generate or renumber an existing file these numbers automatically and...

Making a KML LOD grid does not complete after 24hrs

Can someone run this code and tell me how long it takes as it never completed for me running the 22/10/2016 Dev version of scenProc: (this is virtually straight from the manual) CreateRectangle|Tasmania # SplitGrid|AGN|* PlacePointAtCenterPolygon|*|String;obj|center|0...

    OK, wilco. Thanks again.

Scenproc - Does it support BigTIFF via GDAL libraries?

I have 32GB RAM so memory is less of an issue. Thanks Arno.

Scenproc - Does it support BigTIFF via GDAL libraries?

And if it does, what is the largest GeoTIFf that anyone has tested the vegetation autodetection capabilities with? I have a 78GB GeoTIFF that I'll probably have to break down, but I want to break it into the smallest practical number of tiles for scenproc to detect the vegetation. cheers Braedon

Discussion Thread about the wiki article "Create mesh using Global Mapper"

If the mesh differs greatly in resolution from the default mesh (like 1-2m resolution differs from SRTM), you will get large straight trenches at the edges of the higher resoluton mesh. If you have the source (or create a source by undersampling high res data) for the lower resolution mesh that...

    AGN buildings from point data

Most of them are rural sheds that are nowhere near anything. For silos that won't be an issue as they are round, but the others I think I'll just have to draw rectangles the old fashioned way. At least I don't have to draw the other 80% that have something. A little trial and error will work...

FSX Is there any GIS sapefile for the autogen tile boundaries?

I'm hearing you there Arno... My kids (lack of) sleep patterns have interrupted a lot of my plans over the years... cheers Braedon

    AGN buildings from point data

That'll probably do it. Now I just need to work out what to do with all the buildings that have -1 as the rotation (ie I think that's their way of saying "undefined"... Cheers and thanks Braedon

    AGN buildings from point data

Can scenproc create (or have a feature enhancement to be able to create) user specified size by type, but otherwise generically sized autogen building footprints from GIS data which is a point, offset from north in degrees -90<x<+90, and a descriptive type (ie Residence, Rural Shed Large...
