• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have just been trying to use the developer mode in 2020 to place some objects on an airfield. I can place and save them easy enough but when I close the developer programme all the models disappear and when I re-load the xml there are no models visible, although when I read the xml all the models are there and I don't quite understand! Anyone help? Neil

Do you mean they are not there in the sim or in the project tree?

Thanks for getting back to me, it was just me doing the `Learning Curve' again. Neil
Let me know when you make a FSX to 2020 programme!!! So I can convert my Farm Strips!

Neil, when you place and save them, that’s just updating the xml file that’s used when you select the project (not the bgl). Once you’ve saved the scenery, (if your folder structure is correctly set up) select the project name, not the bgl. Once the project name is highlighted, open inspector and you should see a big “Build” button at the bottom left of the inspector window. This will “build” the scenery. You then need to copy the built package to the community folder and restart the sim.

im just replying from the phone atm, but I’ll do some screenshots this afternoon.

Hi, I do not understand. What If I am not done with the airport and have to load it up later. How do I access the saved project? When I open the project that I saved, nothing shows up in the project editor?

For what sort of project?

I am just a beginner but if this is your problem it may help. When you open Developer-Open-Click on the file you have been using-in the Project Editor Window you will have (Image-1), Click on BGL, then in the Inspector Screen click Load in Editor. Hope this helps as I am still learning. Neil

I have the same problem as CombTheDe5sert where you do what Neilb has said but it will only load the polygons unto the Scenery Editor. Any ideas?

Watch and study the video on U-Tube, it's an invaluable help, even though I don't speak German!

Problem is the BGL that I saved does not show up in the project editor. The project is gone. So there is nothing for me to load.

I just remembered I had to manually create a PackageScources folder in my scenery folder look at the attached image and see if yours corresponds. Neil
