Hello guys, few weeks ago i discovered the amazing "render to texture" feature in 3ds max, however, after waiting so long for the texture map to be re-drawn with the shadows etc, it now leaves me with black edges on my objects, and wen in the sim, it looks so much like a cartoon.

When I create my texture maps in photoshop, I contract the selection by 3 pixels to be sure any black edges are removed... but the render to texture seems to add its own black edges... is there a way I can eliminate this problem? it is really holding me up!

Thanks

I don't know the answer yet but I used render to texture in 3dmax7 I don't get what you mentioned.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is. I got a black edge once when I export the model from Sketch up.

Try to search in 3dmax forum might help.
or try this one http://forum.worldviz.com/showthread.php?t=3068

Hi, Aviasim.

Try to increse the Render to Texture "Padding" parameter. Usually 2 is a good value.
