• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey.

I use 3DS Max 9 to make a ground poly, but get this problem when I use the bolean operation

What can be done to remove the lines leading fron the center hole, to each corner?

Nothing at all. There can't be a whole in the center without those edges. The edges shouldn't show up in FS though...

the edges of the center?
in that case, I ment the lines lading from the center towards the edge of the image.

I max, is your polygon created from one large plane, so that it started out as a single multi point polygon?

Instead of a boolean, why not have used polygon inset to create the inside polygon that you would then delete, leaving the hole, then move the vertices to place. You're still going to get edges, but decently placed, not the result of a boolean.

Yea I should give that a try, it is made out of one huge plane poly as it is, which I thougth could be carved out with the help of the bolean tool.

Have not used it that much, so had no clue.
Will try to do as you mentioned :)

the edges of the center?

Those won't show up either! These "edges" (lines lading from the center towards the edge of the image) are simply supporting the "edges of the center..."

In any case, it matters not one bit. When exported, the export module will automatically retriangulate your mesh anyway for the optimum result.

I'd not waste one more minute worrying about what it really a non-issue. ;)
