• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Can you create a virtual cabin(basicaly a cockpit but a cabin instead. And add it to an existing plane? If yes then can you create a gauge that goes in the back of the seats to simulate inflight TV (jetblue:D) or to at least display various messages? If no what do you think of Wilco Airbus Vol 1 for Virtual cabins and overall performence?

-thankyou

Hello,

You can add your own cockpit or VC to a FSX plane by just adding the MDL file for the VC into the model folder of an existing FSX plane.

You should probably create a copy of the Model folder and make a custom selection to it so that you preserve the original interior model file.

For an FS9 plane, this is possible, but incredibly sophisticated, as it must be done 'surgically' (literally speaking) and perhaps only about 3 people in the world could do this, well, maybe 2 or 4. A model file is sealed, if you would, with crypted code work so as not to be breakable and taken apart. So adding a seperate VC is one of the most difficult things you could do. It has been done, but at what cost.

As for the TV view screen, I dont know how you could do this. I have wanted to figure out a way to show loops and movies and things for ages. But, if you have a special HTML FS viewer (basically a redone FS Kneeboard Checklist viewer) then I think you could load a MWV or the like into the seat model face, (basically like doing a VC gauge, mounting the gauge polygon on the seat).

You would need to create a gauge that was a HTML viewer that looked like a small LCD monitor, and ensure that it could play media through it, such as DIVX, WMV, etc.

Hope that helps.

Bill
