• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Have not tried this before. Found desired texture in FSX Texture called runway15.bmp. Copied and pasted into ADE Texture folder and converted it to bmp dxt3 using DXTBmp. Add taxiway in ADE. What is required to select new texture I want? Thanks

flynby, please refer to the ADE-GP User Manual section entitles Texture Management.

Don

OK. Got that taken care of. Can you suggest a fix for this problem? Many thanks for the help.

This looks like a regular taxiway and you can't assign your own textures - or rather you could but it would change all taxiways of that surface type in the world. If you want your own then you probably need to use the Custom GP feature that Don is referring to

Talked to robystar few minutes ago and he suggested I send this file. He thinks this has nothing to do with GP but instead with visualizing taxiway texture. I have no GP on this project.
See no other threads about issue - just me (of course)

Jon/Flynby, it definitely has nothing to do with Don's GP editor. It is a default textured taxiway of which the texture just does not show up for one reason or another.
So I suspect it may be Jon's turn again to explain what may be the case:).
(sorry Jon/Scruffyduck , but FSX is not running on this laptop so I cannot duplicate it and will have to leave it up to you, unless you have siesta and reply later on?)
Dinner/ supper time over here.

Cheers

Right click on the link and select Display Options.

Make sure that Show Surface is set to True.

cheers,
Lane

Checked that also (on share screen) but was set to true.
You mean, Lane, that you can see the taxiway texture all the way in ADE?

Sure do, until I changed Show Surface to False. Then it looked like your screenshot in post #7.

Note that Draw Surface on the link properties is not the same as Show Surface in the Display Options.

The first is an FS setting, the second is an ADE setting.

cheers,
Lane

Mr. Lane BINGO I did what you said and found I two False. I only changed the Show Surface to True. Thank you both for all the help.
