• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I am not sure what this is. What are you doing? Have you sent the ADE log file in?

EDIT
I am embarrassed that this looks like one of my apps but I have no recollection of it. Nor can I find it on my dev machine at the moment.............

OK I found it - this appears to be a very old program that was with a much earlier version of ADE. It is now incorporated into ADE itself. I would be very surprised it it worked if placed in the same folder as ADE since it uses a very old version of the FS Library. It certainly works stand alone but I would not see a use for it. It has been superseded by Simple Airport Scanner as a standalone tool

The integrated version is Open Stock Airport.

That is the duplicate airport finder? I know in 1.4 and 1.5 it couldnt find one of my KTPA files even though it was there, albeit the UAC had locked the file thus hiding it from view, and that could have been why. That is the time when you suggested the Simple Airport Finder to me. I just didnt remember its name and was trying to use the old one until you said its name. That must have been when I was brand new, before all the trouble I caused :D

I will try the Open again with 2 airport files in the addons list and see if it works for me.

There is no built-in duplicate finder in ADE. Simple Airport Scanner is my tool for that. SAS displays duplicates in priority order as used by FS.

Ok, somewhere the information was lost in our conversation, well atleast it was lost in my head
Lets clarify
The integrated version is Open Stock Airport.

Here it reads that the Airport Finder tool has been integrated into ADE. Ok

Here again, after finding it, the Airport Finder tool was incorporated into ADE itself.
Note: It wont work standalone, I assume I am missing files since all I have is the exe. So I probably had all the files in the same directory as ADE 1.4 versions and 1.5 which is why it worked. At my 1.55 install all I copied over was the prokey modules, so any other file associated was removed, rendering a drop n launch useless :)

You also indicated in was superceded/replaced by Simple Airport Scanner, which is standalone airport finder, not what Airport Finder was intended to be?

Here is the confusion in our talk. Earlier you said the Integrated version of Airport Finder is now in ADE as OPEN STOCK AIRPORT. This is where my question about overlooking it and being unable to find it came from. To which you responded :

Lol, I know that since I couldnt find it.

So it is clear now, the Airport Finder tool was not what I thought it was or remembered it to be. It found airports to open in earlier software packages you offered.

So in short, I was probably using a different tool that had nothing to do with ADE or Scruffyduck Software in the first place and am confusing the drop n launch with Prokey module. Getting old sucks. The things one tends to forget...what was I saying?

It really doesnt matter now since I had SAS already and found it after you told me the name.
Thanks for helping me clear that up, Jon!

No worries. I am embarrassed that I could not remember the program at all!
