• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 ADE is not detecting aircraft location with FSUIPC 7

I have been using ADE and fsuipc 7 for months , Now it will Not detect the location (Lat-Long) of the aircraft! I used it two days ago with no problem. Any ideas what's going on?

To be honest no. Works fine here. I assume that FSUIPC7 is actually loading when the sim loads - silly question but that happens to me. MS version I need to loca FSUIPC manually, Steam version it loads automatically.

Is the Connection indicator green or read?

Is ADE open with a project for the same airport as loaded in sim?

Nope. It is not working when I try to make a New Airfield with the plane at a new Location. Once I fill the airport info it jumps to the Lat-Long window but the box to detect the airplane is Gray and will
not enter the coordinates. Besides it will Not Connet. I just got the Coordinates from the sim copy pasted them filled the airport name etc. and saved ok. Created runway etc.. and compiled fine. Opened the new airport and loaded ok, with No connection clicked the connect button and it did connect. When loading the sim FSUIPC pops up and connects(???) so it says and it appears as if it did so. I just downloaded Fsuipc and re-installed but the same happens. Crazy, it worked fine yesterday... This Sim is a bowl of spagetti, worst programming I have seen in the last 35 years. Too bad.

Sorry - I am not sure what to suggest. Does the aircraft show in the correct place for an airport that already exists in stock?

Thanks Jon. I'll re-install ADE to see if the problem is there. With this sim Anything can happen at any time , just like a tornado!..Apparently Everything works ok, Until when you want to make an airport from scratch, then like I said the box to get the location is greyed out and will Not work.

One final thought. Can you confirm that you are creating a new airport not in the stock files?

Please confirm when you have the sim open and ADE open whether the Connection indicator near top right is green or red?

Does FSUIPC show it is connected to the sim or not

If it is green then there is a connection but ADE does not find the location of the user aircraft. It may be that ADE reports the aircraft location as close to 0 lat, 0 lon? the position information display (red numbers)

I have a project loaded - existing airport as it happens - and if I right click > Move Aircraft Here to a location on the airport

I get the coords expected

The sim is not loaded with anything at the moment but if I load the stock airport into the sim ADE gets information about the aircraft position in sim and moves it (using FSUIPC) to the correct position

If you are working on a new airport then I have not tested it but I presume that you need to have the aircraft located in the sim at the reference point of the airport and probably have some sort of project package loaded for it in sim/

I don't think I asked whether you are using two way editing or not for the project ?

Hi Jon...I deleted FSUIPC 7 and downloaded a new one. I also Downloaded ADE and installed both. Well now it works again. I make "new" Bush fields 95% of the time so yes I start from scratch. Sometimes I update a "Stock" one or import a bgl from my previous FSX collection. After installation "It worked again"! So I really don't have an idea what happened. I did notice that when things went down the tubes, FSUIPC did not load with ADE and I had to manually do so and Only happened when making an airport from scratch.. Now it is loading automatically with MSFS. I use the store version. I am going to do others today and see if everything goes smoothly. Thank you for all your help.
