• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I seem to be struggling with getting the new beta to run. I do have ver 1.50 on another drive with opens fine.

Any suggestions, please?

Please attach the log file to a post here. It is a file called log.tx1 and will be in the version folder (FS9, FSX or P3D) that you started ADE in.

The Environment Checker is probably no help for the beta.

Log file

Attached is the log file. Note: I had to rename to log.TXT since the attach function would NOT recognize ".TX1"

This looks like a problem loading a plugin. Can you take a screenshot of the folder called Plugins insside the ADE folder showing the files, their sizes and dates?

Is this the first time you installed the Beta?

ADE Plugin Directory

Yes, this is the 1st time I have attempted installing this current beta version. However, I have attempted to install previous version with the same issue. My current active working version is Ver01.50.18.

You have some date differences there. Please completely uninstall the Beta version via the Control Panel. Also make sure that no files are left behind after the uninstallation (delete the ADE beta folder structure if it still remains). Then please run the installer again to create a clean install.

I removed Beta version via Control Panel.... Manually deleted left overs.. Rebooted.... Ran Registry Mechanic... Installed again... Same Results.

2nd go around... I removed... cleaned up... deleted the original download zip file... rebooted... Re-downloaded the beta zip.... unzipped using 7-zip... ran the setup to install... same error message.

EDIT: Plug in directory is exactly the same.

Then I can only suggest that you remove the plugins except the one called Infralution.Licensing.dll and see if ADE will start. If it does then add them back one by one to see which is causing the problem.

Issue Resolved

Thanks, Jon

Problem resolved.. as far as starting up and working. The issue was my ProKey.dll.

Did I miss something about ProKey not working in the Beta versions ??

Anyway.. up and going. Again Thanks for your time.

As far as I know the ProKey should work. Can you confirm the version number of the ProKey? In Explorer select the file and then from the File Menu select Properties. In the Details Tab it should show versions. You should have 1.0.2.0

OK one more thing to try. I assume you have licensed ProKey?

If so go to your ...\AppData\Local\ and the folder ScruffyDuck (it will be ..\Users\your username\AppData\Local\ScruffyDuck. In there should be a file called Prokey1.Settings. Rename this or move it out. Put ProKey.dll back into ADE and start it. If ADE starts and you get the dialog asking you to enter your license details then re-enter them and see if that gets things running. If the license does not work then I will issue a new one

Resolved

Thanks, Jon

That did the trick...

Sorry, took awhile to get back to this. I work at a golf course and the last week has been hectic prep'n for a tournament.
