• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

This version is primarily for P3D v3 users and includes Don's revised method for custom ground polys as discussed here: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/ade-p3d-support.437841/

Those not working with P3D v3 do not need to install this version. However it will do no harm to do so and this will eventually become the production version.

A manual installer can be downloaded here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2s8noh434vjdzof/ade_171_6088_beta.zip

Note if Mediafire does not want to deliver the download when clicking this link then right click it and use the Save function from the context menu.

It is a clean full installation and as always it makes sense to install it separately from your production version. Once installed you may want to import settings. Be aware to check the folder locations for saving projects and bgl files to make sure they are what you want. Also you may want to copy the MFDB.dbs folder from the Global folder in your production installation into the Global folder of the beta to save ADE having to recreate the detailed footprints.

Don and I have tested this and it seems to work as advertized. You will see that there is a progress bar in the Dialog where you kick off the Compile. ADE has a bit more work to do with custom GP objects now and it can take a few seconds or more to complete.

Thanks again to Don for creating this new functionality :)

It seems that either no one cares about this or everyone is happy. In any case we will move it into a production update in the next few days

ADE is a fantastic program. I wanted to add a small airport near my home base in Ontario, Canada which FSX had left out. I tried with AFX but it made things float all over the place. After finding ADE it was not only easy but the result was great, considering my novice computer skills. I will certainly continue to use the latest versions as I hopefully continue to improve those skills. Keep up the great work all those contributing and supporting ADE and FS developer.

Hah! Thanks! Eager P3D/GP user here, have no fear, only I have to fear!

Cheers,

Thank you for your kind words. I am pleased to hear that ADE worked for you :)

I cannot get any airport to export. I sent you the log via the fault reporting system. A correction: Actually I think ENCN was exported, but when I landed there this evening, all my GP polys were gone, so I need to re-export with ADE 170.

PS; Update:

Ade 171 looked like it did not export two airports, but the export progress bar started a little, the I got the fault messages. Checking the second airport in question, there were no GP polys there as well.

Thanks Andrew

I see the bug and it has been reported by another person so I will see what is going on and try to fix it soon

Using the 1.71 Beta and tried to add a custom ground line, 10' long, 2' wide, with "crosshatc-white" texture.
Receive the following when trying to compile (All of this is on P3D v3.3). I have not a clue as to where to look/what to change...dont shoot please. I receive the same error whether it is a custom ground line or customer poly.

System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reporting this - it is a bug caused by gaps in the index numbers of taxi points. I am working on a fix

You are welcome :) Nice to know it works................
