P3D v3 ADE1.75.6421 (Pro) - GP objects not aligned

Hi,

I hope you'll be able to help. I have a complex airport on which I use GP objects. I carefully place these objects using the 'copy coordinates' options. Until now I was using v1.65 without a glitch but suddenly I started getting crashes in P3D. So I decided to move to 1.75. Although this fixes the CTD, it creates another issue, all my GP objects appear misaligned like in the pictures below:

Anyone else experience this? Thanks,

Fred,

Unfortunately, P3Dv3 onwards does not support some of the legacy technologies utilized in earlier versions. So, when compiling for P3Dv3/4 a very different approach is used which results in slightly lower placement accuracy. It's about the best we can do. Please appreciate the discrepancy represents only a few inches/cm on the earth's surface.

Some of this can be fixed by combining several lines into one. In other cases, you may have to make adjustments to end positions by trial and error. I appreciate this means a lot of work Frederic, but I know of no other way. Thank LM.

BTW, you've done a terrific job on that airport.

Hi Don,

Thanks for the appreciation. Sad to read that what was perfectly working before does not anymore.

However, I was always able to compile using v1.65 until now. Is there some kind of limit in the number of GP objects that I may have reached under v1.65 but not in v1.75? Thanks again.

Fred

Depending on which version of PV3 you are using, the old-style may still work. Try compiling for FSX and installing the GP file (only) in PV3 in place of the compiled-for-PV3- GP file.
