• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADEX parkings

Jon:
It shows up after the airport is being saved. Does not show whilst the changes are being made. Every thing looks normal whilst the work is done. Including the fault finder which I click just before saving the file.
Since I have doubts that the problem might show inmediatelly after saving the file I opon a differen airport then return to the SVBL and thats when the crossing lines and open parking links show.
It does not appear everytime.Just finished another airport and everything is fine.
Hope that someone can help now that you have attached the file in the forum
Thanks for your help and everybodys concern

Jon,
During the time og work that is whilst the changes to the airport are being made, everything shows fine and no crossing lines appear. When the job is finished, i click on the Fault Finder and again no errors are found. So I save the file. Since I have doubts I opon another airport at random, then get back to the recent proyect, and Bang, the crossing lines and missing connections pop up.

I mreally sorry that you are as surprised as I am, appreciate very much your concern and everybody,s else, and hope that by placing the attacment of the airport in the forum, somebody might find whts hppening.

Just finished a different project did the same procedure and keeping my fingers crossed, went back and everything was OK .

Hi,

Terribly sorry, I cannot replicate it.
I opened your ad2 file and saw the lines. I deleted them, drew new ones, saved, opened another airport, went back to yours and the problems were still gone. I did this several times and once closed ADE and started anew
but the corrected ad2 file still shows OK (fyi, I am on Vista 32 bit and FSX+ sp2).

Hello, that is really strange because I have done the same several times and nothing seems to correct the crossing lines and missing parking links, exept by deleting the apparently conflicting parkings, then and only then do I get rid of the lines and of course end up with an apron with less parkings.

Jon have you tried this also? ie.deleting my parkings, placing new ones, saving, openening a new airport, coming back, and the airport is OK? because if this where the case, then I would tend to think that the problem is a personal one? with my and only my ADEX?

No I did what Roby did. Deleted the bad parking links. Added the correct ones and did the save/load shuffle a few times.

Roby - try compiling the airport in the shuffle mix as well. There is code that indexes links that runs before a compile I think.

Jon, I think that maybe I am confussing you guys, because what you say you did ie." Deleted the bad parking links. Added the correct ones and did the save/load shuffle a few times" , and then you have the airport without the crossing lines and all the original parkings ? because this is what I do when trying to correct, and do not achieve results

OK - so we cannot replicate the problem but we are following your steps....

Thanks Jon, I will be alert as to what conclusions can you finally get to. FYI deleted 4 military parkings on the left of the airport and 1 militarycargo on the right, conncted them, saved, and all is OK exept for the missing parkings.

Sorry.

Repeated a couple of times the save/load shuffle mix but it still shows up correctly each time.

So Roby if I understand you fully, you've repeated several times and end up without crossing lines and unconnected parkings? But Jon does have the problem as I do?

No I do not have the problem - I can't replicate it either.....sorry.....

Jon,just thinking allowd, but what if I start ADE v1.500044 from acratch. Download the version place it on a new folder. Would have to copy and paste the work folder with all of my airports from the current to the new one, then delete the old ADE folder,do you think it worthwhile?

Mameni,

that's what i suggested in an earlier thread :)
you may well have a corrupted file somewhere
i wouldn't copy anything over yet, then try starting the airport you are having problems with from a new stock ADE airport, perhaps this may hopefully be ok
once the new version looks to be stable, then copy over "only" the file you sent to Jon to see if it is now ok!!

good luck

Well guys tell you what I did, considering Jon and Roby last posts which re confirmed me,that I was the one that might have the problem on my ADE. Went to my ADE"S folder and since I had done a manuel update checked and re cheked the folder and found that there were 2 duplicated folders inside the main one: ADE-150_Full and FSP_135 so I took them out and placed them on the desktop. Then went back to SVBL added the parkings that I had deleted to get the airport just as it was initially(.ad2 sent to Jon) and guess what ;) no more lines nor un connected parkings poped up. So I guess that this was the problem created whilst doing the manuel update.
So to tell you all the truth I am absolutly:mad:with my self for having taken so much of your valuable time:o and maybe the positive thing that I recap. is that in effect as Jon says, the manual update is not the best alternative.
Thanks you all for your comments and if you all agree, this finishes the issue.

Hi Manuel

I am very pleased that things are sorted out. We no longer provide manual updates to ADE because of the problems these can cause. Some folks do not like installers but to be honest they are the best way that we can ensure that what is installed is what should be :)

Ji John, I am also pleased that every things where sorted out and the voice of the experience was correct: no manual updates,at least for me.
Bye,thanks, and as Ham radio operators say, see you down the log my friend
