• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Advices Needed

Hello

I'm new in this place and new in scenery design.

Working with the Greek Airports lately and need some advices.

I've allredy finished some steps.

1.Design the airport with AFX

2. With SBuilderX 3.13
Added Flatten_MaskClassMap_ExcludeAutogen over the airport boundaries
Added EcludeAutogen around the airport
Added Slopy Poly in the beach area
Added LC_Grass_Corps around the airport
Added Photo Map from backround (Google Earth)
Compiled and added in the AddonScenery/scenery folder

Here is the result

As you can see the backround of the airport is the MaskClasMap poly and not the Photo Map from the Google Earth, the terrain around the airport is the FSX default and not the LC_Grass_Corps poly, and some default objects inside the airport boundaries,as the Tower, are still vissible.

Here are my questions:
1.How can i remove the default objects?
2.What am i doing wrong with the backround map?
3.How can i add different objects than the SBuilderX library?(f.e. other shelters)
4.How can i add some trees around the airport?
5.Why the LC_Grass_Corps doesn't appears in the FSX?

All I want you to tell me is the programm i have to use to solve my problems, and i'll fint how.

About the 2nd Q I've allready read the ''Make_photo-real_ground_textures_in_FS_X'' tutorial but I couldn't make any sense...

Thanks

George

Default objects can be removed using the "exclude" boxes available in AFX. You must have both AFX and FSX loaded and use the "preview in FSX" option to see where you're placing the exclude boxes. The tower can be removed by clicking the "general buildings" box and the refueling object can be removed by clicking the "trigger items" box (these options pop up when you draw the exclude).

It's a bit hard to tell from the images, but is it possible that your other excludes and LC areas are overriding the photoimage? Best way to find out is make a separate folder for this airport with a "scenery" and "texture" folder inside. Load your bgl's into the scenery folder, any textures you have into the texture folder and activate it in the scenery library. That way you can easily remove certain bgl's to see the effect on your scenery.

Adding vegetation around the airport depends on what the photoimage looks like. If it extends enough beyond the main airport, then you can use the "Autogen Annotator" in the SDK to place trees, etc. Otherwise, you may be limited to scenery objects vegetation placed with programs like Instant Scenery.
