• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Aerofly 2 Released; Beta; Steam Games

WOW - those are some pretty amazing statements.

What people do not understand today is, that there is not that much difference between a fast mobile devices compared to a desktop computer.

Are there any benchmarks to support this?

The current version of Aerofly FS 2 allows full IFR flights.

Someone do a video of ATC vectoring you to final and breaking out of the clouds at 800 feet AGL.

Here is your feedback on ATC ....... Yes please add ATC. And AI. IFR is no fun if there is no one to crash into.

Is this program worth the Money?

I can only assume that as a paying beta tester the final version will be $69 $79??, but for us Canadians it's $100

I still think this sim looks amazing, but I don't think it's a flight simulator .... yet. Here's hoping they get this right.

Update just released a few moments ago.

Im glad I know now how to adjust/raise the seat up. In the Beech twin petrol, you are really low in the seat. Cant see over the nose. They explained its Page Up / Page Dn.

It is pricey for just 3 states.
Man, Ron, that is a horrible exchange rate. I feel your pain.

The talk about the pricing inspired me to a little research.

Interestingly, the price could have been higher, if you use megascenery as an example of the going rate for photo-scenery.

As well as just state coverage, Megascenery sells individual super-high definition packs for specific areas within a state such as particular cities like Los Angeles. They also sell specific sites of interest, Like the Grand Canyon.

After purchasing just the scenery, add in the planes and the software and for myself, I can kind of understand Ipacs pricing. (Though I can also understand peoples concerns.)

I wonder what the developers here might charge for such a package?

As an aside, I also like Megascenerys policy of making available large scenery areas via USB stick. Pretty cool, and maybe something Ipacs should consider in the future.

Megascenery California 49.99

'he' speaks amazingly like a lawyer...
If by "he" you mean me, I'd prefer if you have something to say about me, you address me, thanks in advance. Is that what the good book teaches? I'd also prefer if you just let the whole thing go, maybe hit it next time and get on with how cool this particular sim is, it's looking better every day btw.

Dear Aerofly users,

first of all, thank you very much for all the feedback and ideas, you have provided to us. As we see, the wishes are numerous and each user has its own priorities. It is a challenging task for us to come up with a good roadmap to please everybody.

The near future will bring the following main features to Aerofly FS 2:

  • Higher resolution textures for aerial images
  • SDK. The initial version of the SDK will offer the following features:
    - An option to read simulation data via DLL or network
    - A possibility to send back data into the simulation, e.g. control inputs.
    - Tools and converters so you can add your own objects and airports to Aerofly
  • Improved usability of airliners, e.g. LNAV, VNAV, auto tuning, radio navigation
  • From all the Emails we have received a good ATC module also has high priority on our side. This ATC module will most likely go through many iterations.

Of course this list is not exhaustive, so expect to see more features, where we haven't decided yet on the exact priority, like more system complexity, improved graphics, complex weather simulation and so on.

Besides those major points, we will in parallel work on other things like, Saitek support, Virtual Reality, new airplanes and airports, basically things that don't bind too many resources.

Please understand that we cannot give you exact dates. Experience has shown that it is difficult to estimate times to implement complex features like ATC.

Thanks again for supporting Aerofly FS 2.

No, that reply immediately followed the quotes from the author of this program in reply #40.

I can hardly wait for the high rez textures to appear in the rest of the terrain areas. Its been good fun flying around in Phoenix, seeing the landmarks from the air.

that impression was well understood when you took the opportunity to reiterate it by answering Bill's question. I thanked you in advance for dropping it which you clearly refused with a personal attack. I get it I'm abrasive so sorry for having poor social skills.

On with the show.

the personal attack was edited into the unwritten apology of flying around Phoenix.

A look at the night lighting. Very cool. Aeroflys modelers and texture artists (whoever they are) are top notch, and anyone making scenery for this program will have a high bar to reach for.

Some X-plane style street lighting would make this mind-blowing.

An Interesting question........

[Official] High resolution aerial images
Dear Aerofly users,

as we have said before, we are currently working on a DLC with more high resolution aerial images.

However we want to hear your opinion here first.

Currently the base installation of Aerofly is around 30 GB of data and we don't really want to increase this yet, that's why we are planning optional DLCs for more content at no additional cost to you.

However we are unsure yet how we shall optimize our base package: Shall we add more high resolution aerial images around our airports and remove some world images or shall we keep the current base package the way it is?

I just flew around in the Lear in Nevada in Las Vegas. Went out to Indian Springs and back, landed in down town. My goodness... Its picture perfect. Its like being there. The reflections also on the jet are even photo real. Where did these guys get this technology??? This is brilliant.

I am guessing this has PBR graphics. Judging by the runways (textures right down to the pebbles) and the grains and things in the interiors (leather, dash, etc), I'll need to learn about how that is done. I have Quixel, so that will help out quite a bit.

Their Aerofly1 SDK uses Max 10. I hope I can get my Max 2014 to work. I'll have to get that sorted also.
