• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi

I have built a massive fictional airport and have added fictional ai traffic to it. The airplanes takeoff perfectly at the times the flightplans.txt tells them to but when it comes to landing they seem to appear out of nowhere instead of flying the approach and landing. It has become very annoying and would be greatful of a solution.

I guess we need more information. What sim? What tool did you use to create the airport? What tool are you using to create flight plans? What planes?
I would suggest starting small. Build a small strip near a default airport that you know works. Create a few flight plans with default planes. That way when things don't work, you can fix problems easier.

The sim is FSX, the tool that I used to create the airport was ADEX and I didn't use a tool for the flightplans, I just wrote them (e.g AC#1,NW3DMH,1%,WEEK,IFR,1/05:15,1/11:19,420,F,0301,KJFK,1/15:50,1/21:54,360,F,0302,EIBG,2/05:15,2/11:19,420,F,0301,KJFK,2/15:50,2/21:54,360,F,0302,EIBG,3/05:15,3/11:19,420,F,0301,KJFK,3/15:50,3/21:54,360,F,0302,EIBG,4/05:15,4/11:19,420,F,0301,KJFK,4/15:50,4/21:54,360,F,0302,EIBG,5/05:15,5/11:19,420,F,0301,KJFK,5/15:50,5/21:54,360,F,0302,EIBG,6/05:15,6/11:19,420,F,0301,KJFK,6/15:50,6/21:54,360,F,0302,EIBG,0/05:15,0/11:19,420,F,0301,KJFK,0/15:50,0/21:54,360,F,0302,EIBG).

OK

For testing, try a plan that repeats every (I guess in your case) eight hours or so. Is EIGB that far from KJFK, or is that when you wanted the plane to land? I don't think you can just asign a landing time. That may be what is causing your planes to spawn just before takeoff. Or did you alter the airspeed? You can write your own txt. files and make them into bgls., but the dangers are many(as you see). I would suggest AIFP for Flight plans, and remove all the guesswork. And again, test with a default plane. The 737 is a good choice because it works.

Make sure you use the fault finder in ADE. Make sure your runways have runway links down the middle that are connected to taxiways. And parking connected to those taxiways.
