• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ai traffic problem

Hello I am new to this forum I've been reading it for the past week and I'm obsessed with ADE. To the point, I created a new airport and sometimes AI traffic will park on top of each other. Lets say There is an AA 738 at gate 1, a DL 738 will go and park at the same position and sometimes even more aircraft  What have i done wrong?

Thanks for any help!

Hi and welcome to the forum,
is this for FSX or fs9?
if for FSX, you say this is a new airport, can i take it it is not in FSX?
how many spots have you created? make sure they are numbered differently, ADE should do this automatically
have you coded the parking spots?
can you show us a pic of your airport layout?
a bit more information will help us to help you :)

Hi glottis thanks!, sorry I didn't provide anything, here I go.

It is fsx, its a brand new custom airport, its a fake replacement for the saturated mexico city airport but it's my first airport so there's a bunch of mistakes and what not. :D

What did i do wrong? :/ and also how far should i place the gate from the building? because i place it next to the building but the AI aircraft parks way ahead almost touching the building. Thanks!!!

that will help.......
all your parking spots are way too near the terminal so the jetways will not operate,
if you highlight your parking spots, on the top of the spot there is another tiny spot, which we call the handle where you can rotate the spot with it,
this spot gives a rough idea of where the push back tug, baggage cart and baggage loader is, so you can set the position, adjust to suit in the sim,
what will then happen is your spots will be too close to the taxi path,
so wings will hit other aircraft when they use the path, more room is needed
i also notice the building is stretched too much so the textures are distorted,
the option here is to re-size it back to where the textures are neater, then copy the terminal and place it along side the other one to get the length you require, like you have with the four vertical buildings
hope this helps you to be on track

Lol i knew that tiny spot meant something, sorry but I didn't get the overlapping ai aircraft problem what is the issue? all my gates are numbered and stuff, once again thanks for the remarks

As Horst says, the usual reason is that you do not have a red hold short node at every runway entrance and exit.

when you move the parking spots back from the terminal the parked aircraft will be close to the taxi path, so any aircraft using the path will hit the parked aircraft,
you need at least twice the distance you have at the moment between your concourses to eliminate this
