• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

AIFP - does not react to mouse clicks anymore

Hi, I have a very strange problem.

Whenever I start AIFP, nothing reacts to mouse clicks. Neither the bottoms in using interface, while the menu items on top. I can see how they have been clicked, but nothing opens.

I have done the windows update to the latest small patch two days ago, but I don’t think that’s the problem. I have used AIFP without a problem afterwards, and I just uninstalled the latest update from Microsoft but I still have the same problem.

I have also made a fresh install of AIFP, same problem. I do not have that issue with any other of my programs on my computer, only AIFP.

Anyone else has the same problem? anybody knows where I could start my hunt for the problem? I don’t know enough about computer computers to know where to start looking.

Check your task-bar and ensure there's not a "hidden" window awaiting response from you before it releases the mouse.
Sometimes (on my machine) the User Account Control (are you sure you want to run this?) window sits in the background rather than on top of other open windows ... it's probably a Microsoft "feature" ;)
 
thank you for your prompt reply. I did look into it, but unfortunately this is not the problem. Also, I did restart the computer and install a fresh version of AIFP, just to get the same results. I I can click on items in the top line menu, and they become selected, but the drop down menus do not open. Same thing when pressing the select flight plan button on the left-hand side, there is a visual effect of it being selected, but nothing happens.

There is something somewhere else in the computer that doesn’t work well with AFIP, I just can’t figure out what it might be. Especially since everything is working swimmingly until 24 hours ago.
