• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airbus A350 XWB

Ok, you're on the right track! 4096, hmmm...

Still a low resolution per meter? Or you split the fuselage?

I just do what my painter tells me is best. Thusfar that has been having the fuselage on one 4096 sheet, being split in three parts. Though as my painter has also noticed the space isn't optimally being used since my logics said I needed to keep the three bits to scale for one another...
I think BTW, and I have considered it never the less, three 4096 sheets for the fuselage would be overkill... I'm just hoping it will be crisp with the way I unwrapped it... Though one thing I've noticed is that the UV is more sensitive then the sheet, because I can make an extra pixel paint but it won't fit only by moving the UV slightly I can fit it.

A little setback is that the texture appear white in FSX... I've mapped them, applied them to the materials and converted them to .DDS, put them in the textures folder and linked them... very odd....

Looking Very Good!!!! :)

Thanks Kris!
Also I got the textures working now!

Nice!

What was the problem?

If I told you I forgot to mirror the texture before exporting to FSX would I be able to hear you laughing for hours? ;) I noticed after thinking the white texture wasn't fully white... so then I thaught wait a minute.... didn't mirror it upside - down, did that and voilá! :)

xD :p

I never forget to flip the texture. Simply because I don't have to. Arno's Texture Converter in ModelConverterX does the texture conversion for me. ;)

Well I don't so now I've just flipped them manually... I was already wondering why the belly did get the Qatar Airways gray. But ofcourse non-flipped textures caused that. ;)

Hey, nice one :), I see you did the cockpit model for external model ^^

also, I want to share a music with you :), I like this kind of music :) (Electro, Techno, House, EDM)

hope you'll like it :P

Nice :), but please, try Air Caraibes :), Its an Airline which is sippesed to get the A350, and the Airline that deserve French Guyana,
also, did you started system coding? C++ etc? :)

Thanks Guys!

Well it'll come later on, franly this UA livery was perfect for testing the unwrap of various parts to see if they lined up ;) The C++ coding has started but it nearly stationary since I still have to make the .BMPs to work with in the first place.

Uhh do I see a retracted gear there? :D

Not just retracted, but missing all together ;) It has to do with the fact I've just animated the left gear and sorta wanna copy it's animation to the right, so temporarilly it doesn't have a right gear.

Looks Good F747fly!!! :)

Thanks Kris!

Do your gauge when in the good mood for doing it, because it sooo boriiiing.
Except you good programmer and know what you do, there no visualization except test it in sim.

Well yes, it's pritty difficult at times but it's something that has to be done...

As requested an Air Caraïbes livery, though a bit overdone:
