• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Scruffy can you look at this, I am at a loss to know what to do, none of these flattens are showing up, i was able to get two of them at once, but not all of them, and now none are showing up. i keep trying to move the vertices a bit farther apart, and recompiling, but it wont show up.

I originally posted thinking this was just dropped over water... I now put in the other files in priority order, and it looks better but still odd...

Perhaps someone experienced in custom/fictional island making in FSX might be better to answer this...

I may be mistaken, but in FS9, you used to have to make the island using a land/water mask first, then create on top of that... In FSX, I dont think you can just make landclass over water... The landclass will wrap over whatever terrain IS there... there seems to be alt showing where there is taxiways or runways, but the flatten is not reading, perhaps because there is no TRUE land below it...

Someone may want to step in here, but I recommend you create an island to build on first... create a land mask out of the water... then put your goodies on top...

I hope this helps

I don't know what you are trying to do, but I don't think it is possible with ADE.

This is what I see if I first delete the default hydro-polys and create a new island in SBX on top of which I place your compiled ADE file.

It could probably sound unorthodox but you can make a flat island with ADE .
l deleted all your polys of course and placed your airport on it .
The island is squarish , but you can give it any shape you want .

aah golf! that's perfect! huh, will try redoing the SBX files...

EDIT: I found the problem, ADE had the CVX file with the flattens, and SBX had the cvx file for the water poly exclude in the same folder. i removed the SBX .CVX file and put the data for it in the ADE file, it works!

EDIT 2: now on to rebuilding the shoreline... Plan to post this as freeware when i get done if you were curious...
