• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

Okay i don't wanna bore you with all these release announcement... But once again, and for the last time announcing my final sky set: Navid's Sky 2017.

After releasing three previous version, i'm now releasing my forth and last set as i've come to the conclusion: "That's perfect, i'm done!". This time i've kind of merged some v1 colors with v3 look/style and adjusted some lightnings and shadows. That pretty much explain this set.

There are no official pictures yet, only some pictures as i've been doing regular flights in the sim. Here are some low-sun pictures:

The sun glow modification will not be included, i will have it available separately. Looking to release this in about a month or so! More information will be available at my site navidh.se.

Have a lovley weekend! :)

Kind Regards,
Navid Hashemi

That looks great! Very...nordic.

Is it adequately dark at airliner altitude?

Beautiful! I have your previous sky set, looks wonderful!

For image purposes I assembled my own colors, some time ago. The were a bit overdue but the effect was wonderful (IMHO).

Sadly not at the moment, havn't figured out how to accomplish this without making the sky colors at ground level get to sharp transitions. My first priority is to make the sky looking smooth from horizon to top at ground.

This is FL300 daytime, still pretty bright sky.

We'll see what i can do about this, need to figure this out for y'all airliner simmers. :-)

Progress update:
Working on making the sky darker at high altitude, and i believe i nailed it. It's tricky to find a good balance to make it look good at low level and high level, but i think im pretty happy with todays progress.

Next up is to implement this into all other day time textures. Lot of stuff to do before my release, my deadline is new year's eve.

More updates to come!

Navid, am I right in understanding that the pinkish color in the horizon has nothing to do with your sky textures but is the effect of rising/setting sun? It looks very good by the way.

Beautiful work, Navid! Thank you for sharing your outstanding efforts with the community!

Rustam,
Actually the pinkish color has a lot to do with the textures. In fact all colors you see in the sky are the textures itself. The whole sky, from horizon to top, haze color and lightning/shadows is a part of the texture. The sun itself, the sun disk and sun flare, are separate textures (also available on my site if you are interested).

I hope that answers your question!

I almost bought that Envtex pack at simmarket.com but then I realized you make the most natural AND best looking sky texture anywhere to be found. At least here in Finland, these sky textures are absolutely spot on! Tackar och bockar Navid! God Jul o Gott Nytt År på dig!:santahat:
