• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS Asobo C152 Dev Console Errors

My Dev Console keeps showing about 28 ERRORS associated with the C152 .
This is a PITA, because I am just interested in errors generated by my current project, but I loose them in all the C152 errors.

The C152 errors seem to be mainly associated with the XML not being able to find certain animation in the model ?
My understanding is that currently, we cannot open up and examine the existing Asobo Models .. but that not my real concern.
I just want to reduce the displayed errors associated with the C152

So, easy -- remove the C152 .. deleted, no longer shows up as installed on the manager,
Re-start MSFS and all should be good ... NO
Still C152 errors
So go look in "official" and the C172 package is still there, even though it was "deleted" and now only shows up as in Library for download.

So, stop MSFS, and delete it from "Official"
Restart MSFS, and it complains, and want to download something ... yes the C152 package.

So it seems, even if you do not have the C152 in your Hanger, it is required to be downloaded and in "official" , even if you don't have the option to fly it.

Just was Unexpected ... funny way to handle a Required Package ...

But I still cannot get rid of all those "Lack of animation" Errors associated with the C152

Is there any way to check the Model, if only to see if the animations exist there, or if it is a Name Type or whatever ???

I am still. very new to all this ....
Could it be that the animation is missing from some LODs ??? and that happens to be causing the error messages.

Its a fun ADVENTURE , but I am so glad my liveyhood does not rely on MSFS !!!

MSFS is a wonderful software ... not finish but wonderful !

Don't be afraid, Prepar3D has also the same error when you activate the log system and sometimes, the number of errors overload the log.
My advise: try to correct the C152 ;).

PS: As I work on my Cessna 150 K Tibush, I am interested by errors that you find ... perhaps I could give you some answers.

The first part of yours errors log are on the interior.xml and on the 3D model. I don't think that you can correct theses ones.
The 3D model is unfinished by ASOBO and a lot of work need to be done but I don't think that it will be done in the future.

Thanks Didier.
On reflection, I did not give enough details here.

I do NOT have the C152 installed. It's still in my Library.
But there is a C152 Asobo plane in "official" - maybe not all of it, but there is quite a lot there.
If I manually delete it, then when I start MSFS, it re-installs it Enforceable, before the sim will continue.

So I am assuming, it uses the C152 as a souce of AI aircraft, but it is not Officially "in the hanger" till it is downloaded from the Library by the user.
So, if I do not have it as a flyable plane, and I am flying say the C172, and the C152 is just acting as AI, why the errors of an Internal nature,

Maybe I should re-install the C152, fly it, and see if those animation items really are not working...
At this point, I am going to assume they are, or else all the C152 users, and those Modding it, would be talking about all the animations that don't work.

MSFS in more than just a Flight Simulator -- It's a very involved "QUEST GAME" as well .

BTW: I am correct in believing, that at the moment, it is not possible to "open" and examine the Asobo Model files , let alone edit them ??
I have done ZERO 3D modeling ... so really do not have a clue here.

---
I did check out the GYRO light error.
All the code seems to be there to control that animation and its emission etc... so one assume maybe at one time it was developed to a working state, but may have since got "broken".
Here again, without being able to look into the Model, one comes to a grinding stop trying to figure out what is wrong

-- or at least I do, with limited knowledge in this area. I guess I know enought to know just how much I do not know !!!

Yes I have understood your aim, as you have write it in your first post.
If you know Blender and download the plugin which permit to import glTF model (for livreries creation on github) you can see the different elements in the cockpit in order to understand the process.

Well my friend, that the problem. I do not know Blender .. but

If you are telling me that with Blender and the dlTF plug in, I can examine, and EDIT the model then I might well consider the long learning process of getting up to speed with Blender.
But not unless I can actually EDIT the model, and save it as a working edited model -- which, with my limited reading from outside the circle of "Blender experts", seemed not to be a possibility "yet" for MSFS models

Being able to look, but not change would be far to Frustrating for me !!!

You can import and edit the model. BUT beware, in the import process, you'll loose ALL animations and UV maps. You'll have to remap the model, and reanimate it entirely.
