• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have read a lot of the posts here. However there has to be simpler ways of doing the following than being a super math wizard. I'm an ex ATC and would like to develope some afcads that direct aircraft the way they should be. FSX did not know how or what to do with the aircraft to make it look real, and that's not all their fault.
1. Jim, is there an explanation on how to change the distance between arrival and dept. Know you made referance to it, but where is that info and If I might ask how do you move the FAF in closer?
2. What does FS do with aircraft inbound to an airport. Please no in depth math answers here, just nice plain english for us common folks. I do not know programming, but have enough knowledge to get into different files and work with them, and keeping back ups, as I go.
3. If FS has a system of doing vectors, without reprogramming, then I would appriciate some of the knowledge that you display in the field.

Knowledge at this point: can creat traffic flow for airports with the afcad,
on the ground.
can add runways with approaches, waypoints, etc.
I have tried to add transitions to approaches but with ATC not taking advantage, so have learned that is not the source or reason for the obscene vectors.
One of the biggest inprovements to FSX over FS9 was the Allowing the next dept aircraft to enter the r\w while the previous one started takeoff roll. So naturally the arriving delay to departing a\c is another thing that is something I would like to fix.
Appreciate anything that you could give me. I realized this is a big request and maybe there is no solution that a laymen can do to fix. Tks for all the knowledge you have bestowed on us all.:):confused:
