• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA attached library object

Hello
I need to add many small objects to project.
I tried to use Attached Object Editor / Add / Library Object ; I copy Guid but object doesn't show.
Thanks for help.
It would be more convenient if possible to choose object in libraries without looking for guid (as for effects)

Hi,

Is the library that you attached the object from in the same scenery project or is it in another scenery project?

Personally I don't use the attached library objects that often, they are less reliable. Often it is easier to just place the object in a BGL file directly.

Thanks I intended to place objects from other libraries as trees, cars, planters, in a building project (part of big project Taomasina harbour / Madagascar)
So far I place all objects with instant scenery, but there are very many objects to manage with buildings, small objects, ...
I think more convenient to create for instance separate building with its surrounding objects
Maybe solution of split project into seceral parts? Thanks

I tested a gravel stocking area and I attached several gravel mounds from fsx autogen.bgl
In MCX mounds don't show, only attach points are visible, but if I export mdl file , add it in a bgl library and place it in FSX complete object with attached objects is ok.
So, method works but you need work "blind" in MCX.

Correct, MCX does only show the attach point and not the actual object. MCX does not have knowledge of the whole scenery library in FS, so it has no idea where all possible libraries are.
