• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Autogen over photoreal?

How does one add autogen over photoreal imagery?
To me it seems that only Airport Objects can be placed via ADE over photoreal.
Is it possible to add autogen using SBuilderX over it? If yes, how?

You need to look at the SDK and how to use the annotator. It's easy, but place vegetation as small, tree sized boxes, not polygons, and place lots of them.

You either need to use the Annotator tool from the Terrain SDK (to do it manually) or you can check my scenProc tool is you want to generate bigger areas from geographical data.

Shafat,

Ed J. Wells once posted a set of 11 tutorial videos on how to re-build a default FSX airfield using SBuilderX and FSX SDK tools incl. the annotator (videos 7 and 8, if I'm not mistaken). You can grab them HERE. Please note that you must be a registered SOH member to download from their library.

But basically the most important lesson learnt from annotator videos was to open the compiled BGL file (not the bare aerial image!) with the annotator, put your autogen objects on the displayed image and when done and saved move the .AGN files to the texture folder of your scenery.

There is also a YouTube playlist with a bunch of scenery tutorials which you can find useful.

Hope this helps!

Hi Rustam, how are you? I am really sorry I was away from Facebook for months and hence couldn't reply to you. Can you please message me here in FSDeveloper, am not able to. Then I can reply to you and tell you how to make the ground polygons. Thanks for understanding, your Facebook is also deactivated.
(Sorry admins for having this personal conversation, we will move to messages but I just wanted to let him know the situation).
