I am sorry to say that the AVSIM Forums and Main site are down and will be for a while. We had a hardware failure last night. We have had the server rebooted several times since then in an attempt to get it back online. All of these attempts have failed. We are waiting for technical support from a company that we contracted with, but that could take some time to get in place and rolling. I will send out updates as the situation evolves.

Just in case anyone is wondering, the AVSIM Forums and Main site are down and will be for a while. They had a hardware failure last night and were unsuccessful in rebooting the server several times. They are awaiting tech support from their contractor.
Best regards,
Jim Young

logging onto the avsim forums is almost as exciting as doing the Italian Super Enalotto. It's the slowest of 'all' the websites I visit.I am happy to say that the AVSIM main forum server is now back online. Thank you for your patience folks.

I think the forums are carrying too much baggage, advertising and the like.

Totally agree with that! They should set up a separate "PMDG fanboy" forum. That would speed things up quite a bit.
