Greetings All!
Let me start by saying that when it comes to programming I get lost somewhat easily... even with DOS. I searched, experimented, and failed quite a few times.
What I'm hoping is that someone can either point me in a direction or help me with creating a DOS batch file. What I'd like to happen is following Install Creator completing all of its operations by placing my scenery into FS9, it would locate and edit the Scenery.CFG to add the scenery without disrupting previously installed scenery. Also, I'd like another batch file to remove the appropriate entry regardless of any changes that have occurred in the Scenery.CFG file.
I've successfully made Install Creator locate a user's FS9 installation no matter where it's at... just haven't been able to automatically edit the Scenery.CFG file.
It's mostly due to the fact that I tire of constantly guiding my "less-experienced-than-should-be" FS wingmen to add the scenery to their libraries. I've been holding their hands for quite a few years now but they seem unable to commit to memory what I feel is a basic "FS add-on task"... And it would be great to complete 99% of the scenery install automatically for everyone else, too.
Anybody willing to aid this "coding-challenged" developer?
