• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello all!

I am currently working on one of my first sceneries.
I want to show a few pictures of my work, which contains only the region around the airport with only autogen used. The aim is to create the area around the airfields as detailed as possible without having to create custom models.

These pictures show the area around EDMY Muhldorf and EDNA Ampfing

Looks very good!

You know that there are free OpenData aerial photos for the state of Bavaria? Since there are no rights problems, you can use the aerial images freely. No matter whether private or commercial :-)

Thank you!

Yes and no, I thought there would be opendata imagery, but I could not find it...
So I took the Bing Imagery

Servus and Habedere!

Maybe someone can still remember my little project I started about 3 years ago to create photo sceneries and autogen for P3D.
Meanwhile, I create Africa and all of Germany photorealistically, and the files for my small Bavarian airfields are dusty in the furthest corner of the hard disk.

But since I am currently reworking all of Germany, I have noticed exactly these files again.
And, well... I thought I might be able to work something out!

So I created seasons, and adapted the autogen to my Germany scenery.
I create 3 versions of the photo scenery, one, so that it fits perfectly to my Germany scenery, one, so that it fits perfectly to ORBX GES, and one, so that it fits to openLC.
And not only that, I also manually refined the autogen, and manually placed tens of thousands of autogen objects.

And you can see what that looks like here:

Not sure if I said that already...
Each airfield will contain 3 different photosceneries:
Number 1 (activated by default) to fit my photoscenery
Number 2 to fit with ORBX Germany South
Number 3 to fit with ORBX openLC

I think I'll upload the first airfields in the next few days...

whoa.... would you share your workflow?? ive seen you doing these massive autogen thing, i kinda making a cityscene but dont know how to do the autogen just yet...

Of course!
First of all, all the small airfield sceneries are based on the autogen, which I created for my Germany Photoreal project.
Then I create the photoscenery (downloading using FSET, editing with Photoshop).
Afterwards I open the photoscenery with the already exisiting autogen from my Germany-Project in the autogen annotator and add trees and buildings if necessary.
All in all I am adding between 5000 and 10000 autogen objects by hand...
