• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Owen Hewitt's Bell 206B JetRanger V2.0 for FSX and P3DV1-4. Lots of changes including HD texturing thanks to Matt Wynn, new materials throughout, volumetric rotor side blurred effect for main and tail rotor, 3D lighting throughout, all original models plus new models including cropduster, police, emergency floats, female or male pilot, etc. The biggest change is the addition of 3D gauges which will come at a later date. I needed a break from the Trislander and this one was an easier project to do. A few screengrabs of the updated model fresh out of 3DS Max and compiled with the PD3DV1.4 SDK. Oh and the main rotor blades have been updated to match the real bird ;)

Bro, that's another outstanding work. In a single word: beautiful!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hey, @antaris can you donate a helicopter pilot figure for this one?

Yes, of course! If I can recall, George already have the ones I made for the 429. If you need them, please let me know and I will send them back to you.

Cheers,
Sergio.

Hi George

That's the right spot for them! It couldn't be a better place brother. By the way, do you really need the pilots? Please let me know if those ugly and scruffy looking lads are required :ziplip:

Keep those lovely models comming!!!
Sergio.
:D

Did some work today. 3D lights have been added and redid some animations. Also updated the rotor alpha channel for the blur effect and the volumetric side blurred effects. This is a very simple model to do compared to the Trislander or the Bell 222, so using one base will get me lots of possibilities. Cropduster and mosquito sprayer are planned, I am in contact with a real world Bell 206 pilot that operates one that is configured for mosquito spraying. Also planned are models with a bambi bucket (water bucket for firefighting) and a heli-torch whcih can be used with the FireFighter X program. More to follow.

Looking great there George!
I hope you will make a no doors version again.

Cheers

All major gauges including annunciator panel is now 3D, painted and animated, just needs coding to make them functional. I also spent time and placed new switches with more polys, they are also painted and animated. All gauges are placed on one sheet and at a resolution of 4096 pixel. Since my aim is to create all HD textures for the final release, the exterior, lights and some interior textures are in HD format. Of course since I am a one man show, I can offer the current low resolution textures to anyone that wishes to create HD versions. And also to note, things have slowed down for quite sometime now (since July) as I am in the process of moving and real life has taken over. Rest assure that things haven't stopped and I am working on the models as time allows. More to follow....

She alredy looks fantastic; and I am sure with your hand painted textures in HD will make her really to shine :wizard:

Bro, I noticed you've added some neat creases. Are those modeled or did you worked your magic with bump maps?

Godspeed moving to your new home.
:)

The bump maps are processed when rendering, hence why you'll see them in the image posted ;)

More work on the 206. In this case, variations and I'm not done yet. This will supersede all previous releases as it will contain even more models.

All new tail rotor for the Bell 206, will include original standard blades and Van Horn's composite tail rotor blades (both built)

This project just keeps getting better.
Will the Van Horn equipped models have higher tail rotor authority, or are they strictly visual?

And, I am curious whether you will include Blade Slap sounds in the updated package.

Oh, one last question going back to the Nemeth Bros MD500E for FS9, are you planning on tinted windows, and if so can you also include a no-tint version? (or at least keep it to a minimum)

FSX is dark enough without tinted windows which are very distracting. I loved that bird, which is still one of my favorites, and fortunately Tamas Nemeth sent me a no-tint version back when he was a member at HC, otherwise it was like flying in a smoky haze. (I shared it with a lot of people who also preferred clarity)

Keep up the great work George!
Cheers

1.) VH blades are visual only and can be changed within FSX/P3D

2.) Bladeslap sounds are on the board for implementing

3.) Exterior and interior glass are textured, no solid colors applied. This was one thing that was fixed when myself and Brandon took over the project back in 2011

On the other hand, lots of areas are being fixed, visual wise. Also adding higher detail where applicable (tailrotor, cockpit), improving the models overall.

New tailrotor has been placed into the B206 3DS Max scene, no resizing or rescaling was necessary. Time to finish texturing, then animation and code, then export.
