• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Blender 2.8 released

Damned, I've been waiting for this release for a long time.
The RC version was already very stable and promising but the final should delight us. I can't wait until the Blender2FSXP3D addon can be put into compliance with this version

I've only tested the RC for a fairly short time, but the improvements were promising.

Let's see when there'll be an update to the expoert scripts for X-Plane.

I assume you have heard - the person that is actively working on xplane2blender is concentrating on a converter for 2.49 ( apparently a lot of aircraft are still not updated to 2.78/79 )
see issue

Flightgear has a beta for blender 2.8 here

I'm not under any kind of pressure, so I'll let the dev or anybody else sort out 2.8 compatibility.

Haven't looked into making models for FG yet.

I was about to post the same exact subject, but someone preceded me with this, Hopefully we'll see new plugin for the newest blender 2.80

I'm waiting for the summer (Here in the South Hemisphere) to use some spare time to finally learn this. Gmax is cool and all but is becoming a little obsolete.

Downloaded it this morning. I watched a video on it last night and decided to try it out. It has things that 3DS Max doesnt have, like active, real time rendering. Also, it has a clickable 'industry' controls mode, which I tried this morning, and it behaves like 3ds Max. WOO HOOOO!!

Gerli, you do not know what you are missing out on with Max. If Blender is anything like Max, you should begin learning this immediately. The tools in Max for instance (Max I know and Blender I do not know), I can tell you, the tools are so so so much more advanced then Gmax. Gmax is history... Its like a notepad of paper compared to a tablet, Max being the tablet.

Did my first lesson with this tutorial.... this program is AMAZING!
I learned how to make a burning monkey head... AWESOME!
