• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v2 Bombardier Challenger 605

Watching the Hawks win the cup through some 60+ days of playoff hockey consumed most of my spare time and set my own project back at least a month! Great comment!

Greg

Yeah, I felt bad that my hometown Ducks had to beat themselves up trying to beat up on my longtime favorites the Blackhawks, but the results were worth it. My hats off to the Lightning who gave it their all, I now have great respect for them as players and gentlemen, pretty amazing how few penalties there were in the finals, and I don't think there was a single fight either.

Cheers or as they say in Chicago....doh doh doh doh!

Well, it's going on 4 months since Ozzy's last post, and I don't think we have even seen this bird with a paint job yet, so it will probably be best to avoid holding our breath. Sometimes life overtakes the most ambitious project, even when you've spent countless hours working on it.

After all, LIFE is the project we spend a lifetime working on, and I would much rather see a developer's project stalled because his life has taken a turn, than to see his project end because his life ended, which happens all too often.

I'd like to see this project come to fruition as much as the next guy, but there is a lot of work, perhaps all of the hardest bits to go, so let's give Ozzy as much time as he needs.

Maybe like many FS Developers, Ozzy is a hockey fan, and now that the Chicago Blackhawks have completed the 2015 season by winning the Stanley Cup, it will be one less distraction, and like developers in other cities whose teams are already on vacation, he will have more time to devote to this project. :duck:

Just sayin'. :rotfl:

(edetid fer spelleen)

Gman, you stole the words right out of my mouth (I mean, off my keyboard of course.) Unfortunately this project just hasn't been my priority in life as of late, so it's taking the back seat until I can find some time to work on it. Add my new job at the local grocery store to help pay for college next year (where I will most likely have even less free time than in high school) and the Challenger's outlook grows more and more uncertain. I REALLY want you guys to be able to experience this bird after waiting so long, so what I may end up doing is finishing the artwork in small increments and then hand the project over to programmers who would want to volunteer their time and know how to get things done. It will probably be hard to find someone willing to do this, but I'm sure there are some out there. The one thing I don't want to do is disappoint the 60,000+ viewers of this thread by giving up or releasing a half-arsed product.

By the way, I do happen to be a hockey fan...And the Stanley Cup final was quite entertaining, despite the fact that my younger brother rooted for Tampa Bay the entire time.

Hi Ozzy,

I think it is pretty amazing that someone your age has come this far with a project as complicated as the Challenger, it certainly must have been a challenge...so to speak. :duck:

And, if there is anywhere where talented flight sim devs could step up to help finish a project it is here, where the cream of the FSDev crop hangs out.

Although I live smack dab between The Ducks and The Kings, I am in practice a Blackhawks fan from way back. My friend who I watch hockey with grew up in Chicago, and (in your brother's defense) while we are both usually ready to root for the Ducks or the Kings (if the Hawks are out), we had both planned to root for the Lightning if the Ducks had prevailed over the Hawks. However, if your brother was rooting for the Lightning over the Hawks, I hope you had a bet he had to pay up on after the Hawks won.:rotfl:
Good game, (handshake) good game, etc.

Keep on keepin' on young man and good luck with college!

Cheers

Hey ozzman, I sure hope you don't live anywhere near where those tornados hit last night! I am just happy I live near the lake here in NW Indiana, so I'm usually well north of the really nasty weather.

Yeah, I think those twisters touched down pretty far northeast of where I live (Peoria) so our weather wasn't too bad last night. Most of the time, we hear about tornadoes more to the west but lately we've had some deadly ones east of the river like the one that wrecked Washington...2 years ago in NOVEMBER! I imagine that you probably get a small amount of lake effect storms up there in northwest Indiana, but to my knowledge, tornadoes don't usually come out of Lake Michigan. However I did witness a water spout hit land one summer while on vacation in Michigan. That was quite a sight.

Why not upload the abandoned one you created with the default CRJ cockpit for free? I am sure there are many that would enjoy that as it's doing nothing more than rotting in your harddrive with no love...

He's still working on the exterior as well, that's why :)

Texturing is underway on both the interior and exterior models. So far, that's all I can say. I've been EXTREMELY busy with other things lately.

Hey Ozzy,
Take your time mate, if other things are more important, do them first! :)
Throw us some screens of your progress on the textures when you can, looking forward to seeing them, but no hurries and no worries.
Pre-season hockey is coming so Go Hawks!

Cheers

I don't want to be " the guy to say it" because I think Ozzman is doing a great job, but this is what the article says...

I had Been following the Ozzman project for a couple years now but I get the feeling it will be a decades long project like the CRJ. Will Eaglesoft get their's out first?

But I think the onliest person who can really tell is Ozzman.

Your assumptions are correct...These "2" projects are indeed one in the same. Systems are planned to be on par or even deeper than past Eaglesoft products, so you can expect a similar high-quality simulation experience to their other aircraft. I'm not much of a systems expert, but from what I have heard, there is a monster avionics suite in the works. As of right now, it's an interior and exterior model/texture WIP and will probably remain as such for at least another month or so. Also, you may be wondering if this is going to be compatible with V3.0...My answer would be that it's a possibility, depending on how much things have changed since 2.5. We shall wait and see what the future brings.

Anywho, this project is in good hands now, and I am very thankful for ESDG and their willingness to take it further. :)

I could...The only problem is that for some inexplicable reason, interior models simply stopped displaying in that old version and I never figured out why. Originally it was supposed to have Richie Schwertfeger's Global Express cockpit but it too refused to show up. It worked fine in conjunction with its respective exterior model though... A lot of my old source files are also missing, which complicates the issue of recompiling and testing. When I get around to it, I'll put the old version up either on the downloads page of this site or on AVSIM as a "scrapyard" package.

Outstanding choice ozzman,
To quote Harry Callahan, "A man's got to know his limitations".

This project, when released, should be epic.
Best of luck with all of your endeavors young man.
