• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi Russell,

This is a sensational release (BTW)

TOWER OBJECT selection:

When I select the tower location, and choose the place tower object tickbox, the setting doesn't seem to "stick" when I highlight something else.

Ie when I re-select it, the setting hasn't been changed.

TAXIWAY BEHAVIOUR:
On creating taxi-links, the taxi link doesn't always inherit the properties of the taxiways connecting to the node before it.

This is especially true if you go back, and place a turn / branch from an existing taxi (reverts back to asphalt).

Also, would be good if the taxiway consistently stayed the same as the originating (ie FROM) taxiway, when joining onto an existing node.

eg when joining a Dirt taxiway to an asphalt one, the last link will change to asphalt (slightly counter-intuitive).

As a last thought it would be great to have a Version specific "bug list" stickied to the top of the forum, which could then be released (un-stickied?) as each new build was posted -- just a thought.

I will have to look into this.

Taxiways only inherit properties if they are built of a single taxiway. If theer are two taxiways coming into a single node and you then create a new taxiway from that node, the new taxiway would not know which of the existing two taxiways to inherit from. So in this case it doesn't inherit anything.

If the taxiway node has only one taxiway coming into it, then a new taxiway built from that node will inherit the properties of the existing taxiway.

So I don't think this is a bug, unless I am misunderstanding what you are saying.

I guess this isn't a bug - but say, when joining the last piece of two (say dirt)taxiways the last segment seems to revert to asphalt (even though it is connecting two pieces of taxi with the same attributes dirt).

Similarly, when coming from a node where all the attributes of the connected taxiways are the same (eg dirt), it would be intuitive if the new segment was the same. If there was a disparity, then it could revert to the standard, perhaps.

Another small (cosmetic) thing, if you use a scroll wheel to zoom out whilst placing say aprons or blast fences the origin of section you are placing stays at the old zoomed position. Still works ok when clicked however.

Good point!

We are aware of this bug. We just haven't had time to fix it. :(
