• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I really didn't think it would be this difficult to find help in the various FS forums but I cannot get any help or information from anyone about how to find contact info for developers who are willing to take my UFO model and make it flyable in FSX. I am willing to pay a fee if that is what it takes.

I can model but I can't program. I have the 3DMAX model sitting around collecting dust.

If ANYONE can help me, a promise 10 kajillion Good Karma Life Points.

You’re not alone. I am a professional cg artist and have some nice models for FSX but don't know how to make the model usable by fsx. Hope you find some help.:)
{Edit} BTW, i use Blender

I wish I could help, but my plate is simply too full. I'm booked up solid for the next four years at least... :yikes:

I think you'll find very few folks sitting around on their hands... :D

You might want to try one of the freelance websites like elance.

It's free to post your project, and you get lots of companies and individuals offering their services based on your project description.

Be sure to do your research on the chosen company. Most freelance website have an escrow service too.

You might also want to try other programming forums, as you have found, most coders at dedicated FSX forums are already busy.

They are out there, I was coding for FSX (for fun) long before I started getting involved in the forums that were dedicated to FSX, the reason I started coming to FSX forums like this one, was because I started to make it a serious project. ;)

Good luck, hope you get the UFO to fly.

Thanks for the responses guys. Boy was I naive thinking it would be relatively easy to find a developer to make my UFO flyable freeware. Yikes. I'll give those suggestions a try.

Thanks again...

Anyway that $$ can bump me up on your list? :D

I don't understand why you have problems to make it flyable.

I think an airfile and a Aircraft.cfg from a Helicopter will help in the first study of Tests.

Or not?

I don't have any idea how to make a model designed in 3D Studio MAX to fly in FSX. I'm not a developer, just a graphic designer with a simple dream.

:)

Zeta, I suggest you become more than a "graphic designer" by studying the sdk about how to create the needed files and produce the export yourself.

People here love to help students of design learn, when its clear that the student is making a real effort. People are much less interested in doing the work for you.

No developer was a developer before he/she learned to develop. You are at the starting line, and you have the basic interest...to see your creation take root in the fs world. Now its time to hit the books. Years from now you can pass this same advise on to someone asking you to do "their" project for them.

Best,
Bob

I appreciate the advice but I have no interest to learn how to program/develop. If I can't find anyone to take my models and make them usable then so be it. I tried.

I got the sense of this attitude from the original post. In the time already spent "waiting" for someone else to do the work, he could have learned what was needed and been the richer for it.

I mean, just how hard is it to download one of the many, many 'fantasy type' packages from avsim.com, flightsim.com, or elsewhere and using it as the basis for one's own efforts. :duck:

Seems like most people here have their plates full.

This is more of a learn site anyway; your chances of finding a dev with time on their hands are slim to none. --

If you are interested in porting your model into FS then you MUST have at least some interest, yet you paradoxically state that you have no interest.
