• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Cannot find specified folder?

Hi,

Thanks for the help.

There are a lot of airports in FSX that have some minor problem with them, ie the taxiway leads to nowhere, I would like to tweak those ones and fix them. So far, I have had no problem doing so up until the point I want to compile the file. I get the following message regardless of where I tell the program to save the bgl.

"System cannot find the file specified" -OK

When I click on OK, it says "Airport compiled". But I can't find it to save my life. A friend had no problem getting it done.

I tried to save it in various spots, a folder inside FSX, on the desktop... but nothing. Hmmm any help?

Another (and possibly related issue) under options, folders, find. It says it cannot find my SDK folders. But I know the program is there. Any thoughts on that one? I can find them in the programs folders.

The problem is that ADE cannot find BglComp.exe. This is in your SDK. If ADE is telling you that is cannot find the SDK then it means that the registry entry for the SDK is missing. The SDK is separately installed from FSX. If you did not install it separately then you need to find the SDK folder on the DVDs and install it. you will then need to update it from www.fsinsider.com to at least SP1a. BglComp with the original SDK has a bug.

Not sure where this error message is coming from. Please run the ADE Environment Checker tool from the ADE program group and tell us if it gives you an error indication. Thank you.

I had not done that yet. I will try that first and see what happens.

Thank you Mr. Duck. :D

How does one do that anyway?

Thanks again. I think the first option should fix her up. I didn't have SP1 or 2 in. Who knew that they even had service packs. I thought Microsoft always got things right the first time.

Just to be absolutely sure: the real title is "Airport Design Editor Environment Test Tool" ;)

This tool is included since version 1.21.3.

V1.20. I will have to go find the update. But the SPs for SDK did fix my original problem. Thanks for that.

I am being told the way to get updated is to hit the help on the top right but nothing happens when I do that. Any thoughts?

You could try downloading ade_135_update.zip at avsim which will update your version 1.20 to the latest release version 1.35.....:)
