FSX Cannot place Library object in SbuilderX

I am using SBuilderX and now when I select the Object Tool I get a large dialog with the following tabs:

- General
- Lib Objects
- Gen Buildings
- Macros
- Rwy 12 Objects
- Other Objects

Now, I want to place a pier in my scenery. I do remember that there was a way to select object tool then select from the category, say "Water Objects" and then select the specific object.

Now the General Tab doesn't allow me to check the Library Object, Macro and Rwy 12 radio boxes. I can check the others. So, I want to place the library object but can't.

What's wrong here?

Any help on this? my SBX installation is crippled. I have all the library objects as I did but now on my new windows installation it simply refuses me to select ANY library object to be placed on the canvas.

...now on my new windows installation it simply refuses me to select ANY library object to be placed on the canvas.

What is different about old vs new, install location?

Objects are referenced from the \SBX\LibObjects folder and there are a bunch of TXT files that hold the data for SBX. I have 15 .TXT files, not counting the objects.txt file which serves as a master document to the other TXT files.

My SBuilderX is on D:\Applications\FlightSim\SbuilderX\ and underneath there is the LibObjects folder with that bunch of .txt files.

The differences between old and new are:

a) Old was in C:\Applications, new in D:\Applications
b) Old was in Win 7 Home Premium x64, new Win 7 Ultimate x64

just copied the sBX backup I made into the D:\Applications so the whole config is the same. Except now if I run SBX from either D:\Applications or the backup I made prior to reinstalling the OS it simply refuses to let me select a library object.

In the primary SBX folder is an .INI file. Take a look at that and make sure the references under [Objects] are pointing correctly.

That indeed was the problem as well as some other path entries in the INI file. It's a pity the author has not made any new developments into this application, could be somewhat friendlier on some aspects but it certainly unleashes a lot of possibilities once you learn to work with it.
