• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I formated my hard drive due to some problems with windows XP and now I was installing the updates and I can't open microsoft's update site, but on other computers it does fine!
What seems to be the problem? I tried cleaning up the internet files and cookies but still no luck!!
Thanks in advance!

Some questions:
1. Have you reformatted this computer before?
B. Can you get on the internet at all? Maybe you need to go to the IE page and get a newer IE first.
3. How old a version of XP is this?
D. Is this a Dell? I have heard of format problems with Dell. Their website should be able to help.
5. Wild guess, as you know, I don't think you can update with Firefox.

Good luck

Bob

1. Yes, lots of times.
2. I could get on the web but not on microsoft with SP2 and when I installed the SP3 I couldn't access any site at all it would just keep loading for a long time and then show the "this page couldn't be displayed" warning...
3. The CD version is from 2002 and has the SP1 included.
4. It's an ASUS.
5. Firefox has the same problem as IE.

In the meantime I proceeded with a system recovery to before I installed the SP2 update...

Update:
Wozzah! I had a newer version of windows XP and the problem is solved! Thanks anyways! :D
