• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

I am having a bunch of problems when trying to run SBuilderX. I have looked into the previous posts, found nothing similar.

First Warning:

A final one, after that the program crashed(although I see the background of it!):

I am using Win7 64, these are the paths.

FSX at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X
SDK at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK
SBuilder at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\SBuilderX

I have tried installing Sbuilder at C:\SBuilderX , doesn't work.

Any help appreciated.

I'm using Win7 64 and received none of the errors you show. I also did not install FSX, the SDKs nor SbuilderX into the protected \Program Files (x86) folder structure.

It's your computer, of course, but I would look to uninstall both the SDKs and SBuilderX and then reinstall them into some other, non-protected folder, such as C:\FSXwork\, C:\FSXwork\SDKs and C:\FSXwork\SBuilderX.

I believe then that you will see the error messages disappear.

Hi Lance:

I don't work with SBuilderX very often, but I've never encountered those types of errors with SBuilder either (...although on my Win7 64-bit computer, my installation is on the D: drive letter).

I'm wondering, if this might be a newly built computer and the OP may not yet have had to set his decimal separator from "," to "." to accommodate software that uses the 'North American' decimal separator character ? :scratchch

Also, would there be anything he might wish to check in his SBuilder.ini file ?

PS: I saw a few hits for some of these errors on Google:

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=SBuilderX+globally+exception&oq=SBuilderX+globally+exception&gs_l=hp.12..0i30.1093.7686.1.10124.20.4.0.16.16.0.266.736.0j2j2.4.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.1.5.psy-ab.iWxykS8cAiE&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&bvm=bv.43148975,d.b2I&fp=b52269109b105944&biw=853&bih=583

In particular, this thread seems to address more of the OP's scenario:

http://www.ptsim.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6288

The latter part of the explanation in the above post by Rhumbaflappy regarding conversion of FSX default BMP files seems to infer the possibility that SBuilderX may not be finding the path to the FSX install folder chain (...could it be that FSX is not installed properly, or its Windows Registry entry is missing ?)
