I know! Not FS related at all, but I know many who log on here are of Great Britain.
I just want to extend 'Major Kudos' to Great Britain on finally attaining a Superior Operatic Tenor Voice in the form of Paul Potts.
I heard the finale of 'Britain has Talent'. I was so moved, that I rushed to synch it to my favorite Enrico Caruso version (1909) of 'Puccini's Turandot: Nessun dorma', one of my favorite Operatic Pieces. I synched By Stanza BTW.
Caruso's version is a bit more warbly, by that I mean a warble in the voice that most modern American singers seem to think passes for actual singing (I hate when American singers warble >.<), but Caruso invented it!
Potts does not...He sings it pure and every bit in audio-sync and Pitch with Caruso! I LOVED It!
I got chills, and in the final stanza, "Vincerò!", "Vincerò!", "I will Win!", "I will Win!", tears...
Well Done Great Britain!
Flaps
P.S. Did anyone see Simon Cowell, pulling on his ear as if he were distracted? Nope, He is fully opening his ear canal to hear the pitch perfectly.
I did the same...it's not often that Caruso is sucessfully challenged.
