Category - Missions - Structuring Content For
Hi Folks
I should have posted this earlier.
I'd appreciate comments from interested parties
on the matter of -
Category - Missions - Structuring Content For
When I initially started deploying the pages
I had little apprecitaion of the implications of page naming,
particularly that titles could not be edited. ;-)
The following examples are only quoted
as they were easy to see in "recent changes".
Before rolling out more content,
I think we need to look at -
1) Coordinating the structure.
The earlier we catch this,
the less re-titling/re-linking/re-categorizing we'll need to do later.
2) Categorizing appropriately.
Particularly for ease of finding from the "Articles" page in the parent category.
Articles in category "FSX"
Articles in category "Missions"
i.e.
Missions is a standalone category.
Very few aspects of Missions need to include the category "FSX".
The user's entry point should be -
Category:Missions
http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Missions
3) Rationalising some page titles.
e.g.
Mission Object
Mission Object Reference
Should be -
Reference - Mission Object
Reference - Function
Reference - Whatever
etc.
Also, for Acceleration specific,
and although a long way off yet,
we need to structure titles looking towards FS11.
4) Disambiguating as required.
We don't want to be misleading wiki users
with titles which are not the primary focus of FSX.
e.g.
In the FSX category -
Compiling -
http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=Compiling
Should be a disambiguation page,
linking to multiple pages -
- Compiling Scenery
- Compiling Photo-Scenery
- Compiling Models
- Compiling Missions
etc.
5) Anything else ?
