• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Cleaning th background zone

Hello, my name is Jorge and i'm amateur in making airports with fsx planner.
I've done two or three airports but i always have the same problem, after compiling the xml file in a bgl file, in the middle of the runways and the aprons suddenly appear trees and default objects of the fsx background.
Can anyone tell me how can i solve my problem?
I want to clean the airport zone and remove the default fsx objects.

Thank you.

You will need an airport background polygon to exclude the trees and so on (autogen) and also to flatten the area for the airport. I do not think that FSX Planner has such a tool so you would need to use another such as SBuilderX or FSX KML to create it.

And can anyone tell me which of those programs is better for doing that and how can i do it?

Thank you.

I have had quite some success at creating scenery with default objects (GMax is still a big step for me due to lack of time).

The program I would recommend you to use is FSXKML also found on this support form (Tools Supportt > FSXKML). You can use it together with Google Earth to create your polygons.

The only disadvantage of any of these tools that use Google Earth is that Microsoft has made some approximations on the coastlines and omitted quite a lot of islands as well. If you work on coastal or island scenery your workload is increased by the extra work.
