• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

downloaded aifp 3.1.04 and installed. opened aifp to collect airports. screen pops up with checkmark in fs9 and p3dv2. unchecked fs9. press collect and nothing happens. tried to collect from scenery file and same results. used default installation settings for p3dv2. try to make a flightplan using kaus airport. get message kaus is for fs9 only. what can be done to correct this? thanks in advance.

It's not clear what you actually did since the only checkbox for P3Dv2 is for add-on airports.

I have no difficulty collecting airports for any combination. However, I suggest you collect airports again but, this time leave FS9 checked and also ensure "Use provided base data" is also checked. Then click Save to "AirportList.dat".

Did what you suggested. this time collected 23760 airports. started making new flightplan. when i typed in kaus, got message kaus is available only in fs9. another mesage i got was: unable to save traffic file"\traffic_kaus.bgl". ExMessage: a required privilege is not held by the client. i assume this refers to administrator privileges. when working with folders, i am always seeing this requires administrative privilege click ok.

On further examination, it seems that the collect airports function doesn't collect airports from P3D. I will fix this. In the meantime, just copy AirportList_Base.dat into AirportList.dat and you will be able to make flightplans for KAUS. This will make all FSX airports (which are identical to P3D) available.

As for the "lack of privileges" message, try running AIFP as administrator (as suggested in the user manual).

Don, everything worked perfect now. Selected the FSX airport and unchecked the FS9. A stupid question - when making a flight plan, the last window is named FL. Could that be changed to Alt? Had no idea what it meant until i saw it under alt in the flight plan. Many thanks for you time and help.
