• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Compiling has stopped

Greetings. I have been an FS9 user since about 2007 and have used ADE9 for almost as long to make and modify airports. I was working on KROW when mysteriously my mods stopped compiling midway along with some changes appearing but some not. I'd made no changes to folders or destinations, then I even deleted the BGL product from my computer entirely and confirmed no KROW existed anywhere by searching. Stranger still was when I restarted FS9, there was my partial KROW rendered but with no known AFCAD to render from.. I then searched for any other related words such as Roswell but found no references to that land area. Again, the airport rendered had parts of my mods but I can't fathom how that could be happening.
My research most often pointed to a missing or corrupt MSXML4 file so I downloaded and ran a repair file and restarted everything but still saw the same zombie airport. My last thought was to laboriously turn off all addon sceneries and see what happens but that seems daunting so I thought I'd try my luck here. Sorry for the long post, I hope I was clear enough but if this pricked your interest I'm open for any advice. Thanks for reading.

Have you checked your Scenery/World/scenery folder and done a search there?

I did, that was automatically included in the first search. But for good measure I looked specifically there just now, still nothing. At least I located an original AFCAD that showed what seemed to be what I had before my modding. It was in an old external HD from long ago that I keep for just such purposes. I also checked some other airports and found they are not compiling either. Could it be an issue about what folder the compiled airports are being sent to? I don't know how to find that out.

What Windows operating system do you use, and where is FS nine located? And what folder are you compiling to?

I have Windows 10 and over the years I learned to install FS9 on a non-C drive so it's on another drive, but I will have to do some detective work to find where compiled airports go. That was my next step anyway.

So after some checking my ADE9 is installed on the same drive as the sim, and compiled airports go to the 'saved AFCADS' folder provided with the ADDE9 install. I also made a new airport in the middle of nowhere and it compiled, loaded and displayed correctly so maybe my issue is with KROW only. Could a fragment of an exclude from another scenery be the problem? In that situation could only part of a large airport like KROW to not show any modification but unmasked parts would show?

It’s certainly possible, but that would be quite some coincidence. So the changes you see are only the removal of objects? No additions or actual changes?

If so, then you’re probably going to have to start inactivating scenery layers in the scenery library and find out what scenery is causing this issue?

Well, it's a large airport, formerly Walker AFB. On one part of the base I see my mods, but moving over to another part what I see is the original AFCAD I downloaded a long time ago.
But Ugh... no, I think I'll just change tasks and try to add in some appropriate AI aircraft for some variety. Maybe in time I'll learn something helpful. Thanks for the interest though. Safe travels!
