• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX conditional animation in FSX

Good day

I have a question about triggering "conditional" animations in FSX

I don't mean AI motion, but simple object animations
triggered by the arrival of the aircraft in the area.

Up until FS2004, the CAT program existed

But on the forum, Arno explained:

"CAT can only process FS2004 style MDL files. This is because FSX MDL files do not allow such patching. "

But this animation in FSX scenes works, but I think it's different.

For example, in the scenery of Stansted_EGSS airport during take off by plane
the animated train starts moving.

In Corfu_LGKR, it always flows in the scenery
Passenger ship.

I have a question:
Is there any conditional animation tool in FSX?
if not, how to approach it differently.

Best regards
Witold

I know, but you need to install SODE
And these animations work without it.
They are plain spline animations for sure, so 500 ships are finished, 100 then 1000 will come back and stand again.

OK thanks for your help

Best regards
Witold

Use the ambient animation tool and set the time limit as u want it will work even 0-200 ...

For conditional animations you need something like SODE.

But a normally looping animation can be made without the need of extra software. So a train running around the airport might not need conditional animations.

OK, the usual animation will be fine
The ship is only supposed to leave the port.
