• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hi folks,

tough question for today:

How get I following scenario animated:

Im in final approach to my airfield. I lower my flaps for some degrees and
when I reach for example 15 degrees the ailerons also went down a
certain amount to assist the flaps doing their job.

How can I manage that?

I thougt over dummy and stuff like that, the ailerons and flaps are not
on a single axis.

It doesn't matter that your flaps and ailerons are not on the same axis, since your dummy will be tied to the aileron's axis, and have nothing to do with the normal "flap".


What you do need to be careful is that your flap dummy, linked to the aileron does not operate until getting to the range you want... For example, for take off, you may want your normal flaps to be a 10-degrees. Your dummy key framed r_flap_key_aileron (for example) will be key frame to do nothing at the first flap setting (corresponding to the 10-degrees) and then "lower" to 15 degrees for the second....

If you have your normal flaps "lowered" even more, but you don't want any more "help" from the ailerons/flap, then your remaining key frames on the r_flap_key_aileron part will remain at 15 degrees - the maximum "help" needed.
